Today We Are All Hokies

I am sure that all of you remember the events of April 16, 2007 that occurred at Virginia Tech. It was a very tragic day at Blacksburg and will never be forgotten. If you are interested, you can read about today's Day of Remembrance at the VT website. Almost every one of us know someone associated with Tech, whether it is a relative, coworker or student.

I am going to ask two things of you today. First, I would like for all of us to observe 32 seconds of silence, in memory of those who were killed. Next, I would ask that you respond with your thoughts on the tragedy.

In my opinion, the events were terrible and I hope they are never repeated on any school campus in America. Truly, today we are all Hokies! God Bless Virginia Tech and its students, faculty and staff.

I think that all college campuses should have more security and have a few guards with random metal detector checks. I think the virginia tech incident was very sad and dis- heartening

My thoughts on the tragic events that happened was i thought it was horrifying. I was actually at home in Newport News when I heard about it I thought it was just so tragic and very wrong. I see how the guy was angry but killing is never the answer and he deserves to get what he got so I have my deepest condolences for the familys of those victims on this day.

The event that took place at that school, reflects the true evil that we can harbor in our hearts. For I do not know of any possible way that I could ever lift a weapon to specifically harm someone. The memory of those who were brutally murdered will forever remain in the hearts of those who remember that fateful day, and I pray to God that he lets every single one of them into his loving Kingdom. I pray for the families who lost them as well. RIP.

I think that this was a very horrible tragedy. I hope and pray it never happens again to any school campus around the world. That just goes to show you should watch how you treat others, because they could end up like the VT killer.

I think that today is a sad day for many parents, and whoever else had a loss on this tragic day. It was all because of a young man that was picked on, and went well, crazy. I hope it would never happen anywhere else. I actually planned on going there if I went to college but, now I'm kinda scared to. I think that people should have enough respect to not pick on other people just because they're different, not saying I haven't ever done it but I have enough respect to not do it to that person's face. Because I know I wouldn't want somebody going crazy on me just because I picked on her/him.

I believe what happened on that day should of never happened. The student that killed those people have to of had a mental problem. It is sad that those students had to die when they had done nothing wrong to that student.

I thank what happened on April 16, 2007 was a really bad tragedy. Just seeing all the people’s faces on TV and seeing them cry. The guy that did this had to have so big problem going on in his life but that’s no resin to just blow up like that.

My thoughts on the tragedy are bad. I mean that this couldn't have been avoided and that the gunman was completely insane. Today we should remember and never forget.

The event that occured at Virginia Tech was such a horrible event. That day was a gloomy day. Parents lost hope, children grew frightning dreams at night. Many of the kids who lost their life had huge dreams, but they were all lost and destroyed on that day.

Even though I didn't know a single person that got killed that day, It still sucked that so many innocent people died because of one miserable person. On that day I remember seeing a great number of people sad. The security on college campus has incxreased now so it has gotten better now I guess.

What happened at VT is terrible and I know that today is a very hard day for the families of those we have lost. I know that if it was anyone I knew that was at VT I would be upset.I know at least three people out there and I don't know what I would do without them.

I think it was pretty tragic that all those people were murdered by a complete psycho. I don't really understand why the guy did it. I feel bad for the people who survived because they have to live with that memory for the rest of their lives.
May God be with them.
