Music in some form has been around since the beginning of time. Everyone has a favorite type of music, be it country, rock, classical, hip hop or jazz. Can you think of other types of music? What is your favorite? Why is it that?
It seems that every generation has a favorite of music that may not be as popular with the older generations. Do you agree with this statement? Why or why not? Do you sometimes hear older people (older than you) say that they don't understand your music? I heard the same thing about rock music in the 1970s. It seems that it is still around. To me, the test of music is this: Will future generations listen to it and purchase it?

I don't really have a favorite type of music. I listen to basically all different types. The only type i don't listen to is country.
I really don’t have a favorite kind of music. If I am in a bad mood I will usually listen to scream. If I am calm and happy I usually listen to country and pop.
Mr. Downing, how are you? I agree with your blog. Every generation has their own style of music, and every older generation usually doesn’t like it. My favorite type of music is rock and roll/metal.

My favorite type of music is rap. I like rap because I like the beats that the music be having.

All people like all kinds of different music. Some like rap, some like rock. My favorite type of music is bluegrass. I love bluegrass because I am a redneck.
My favorite type of music is Country. It's the best. Most people don't like it because some of it is depressing, but i don't like the depressing kind of country music. It appeals to everyone. Older people seem to like country music too.
Hannah Montana is my favorite musicain. She is the best preformer ever. She even has her own show on The Disney Channel. She recently made a movie. Hannah Montana is my hero.
My favorite kinds of music are Rap, Hip-hop, R&B, and some pop. I like music like that because it’s very entertaining and interesting. It gives me something to think about. If your sad listen to R&B or something.
My favorite kind of music would have to be country. Because my dad listens to it in his truck a lot so I just got used to it. I used to like it anyways though.
My favorite type of music would have to be rap. I enjoy rap because it has a nice blend of hip-hop beats combined with smooth flowing rhymes. In my opinion that makes rap the best music to listen too.
My favorite type of music is Hip hop and r&b. They are my favorite types of music because, I can really relate to that type of music. They sing and or rap about things I like. Another reason I like that type of music is because I like the different types of beats.

I really don't have a favorite type of music. I pretty much listen to everything. Most music you here is either about a life story or someone putting a bunch of words together and singing it.
I think that the music you listen to is an expression of your personality. It tells people about you. Music has changed my life more than once. It has the ability to change my mood, and it alters my ife. Music has my utmost respect. There is no real bad music, so long as it makes somebody happy. Either most people are to shallow to see this, or I'm crazy.
I think that music is a way to express yourself in a non-violent manner. I think my favorite type of music would be R&B because it is so relaxing. I think that music is very important because it is what today's youth love and might want to learn
Music is a sensational experience. It can relax ones mind, or the exact opposite. It can be silly or serious. It can be rough or soft. It is played with many different instruments by many different people. Everybody has a type of music they enjoy. It maybe the sound of the wind. That’s still music to somebody’s ears.
Music is awesome! My favorite kind of music would definitely have to be country. I like mostly all kinds of music but there is some that i don't really care for. My mom actually likes most all of the same music that I do. She actually listens to 104.5 and 100.5, which is kinda wierd that a parent would like it since it's from our generation but i think it's pretty cool. I heard this song yesterday called Smile and I fell in love with it! I think music is one of the best ways that people can express themselves so I'm glad we have music. :)
My favorite band has to be Linkin Park. This is due to the fact that there music is both enjoyable and controversial. My mom tells me all the time that my music sounds a lot like her music. This is very true. I believe that my generations music will be around for a while.
I really love music. :) I think music is a good way to see people's emotions. I listen to all kinds of music besides country because I just can't stand country musicians voices. My mom tells me all the time how stupid my songs are, but the ones she listens to aren't any better, so I do think that music changes a lot through the generations. People 30 years from now will probably hate rap and hip-hop and all the kinds of music we listen to now.
I really love music. It's my life. I really don't have a favorite type because I love it all. I do believe that the music that people my age like now, my parents don't like. I think that's because their music was so much different then what we listen to today.
I think that music is awesome! I am a Christian so i like Christian music. Also, i like R&B style music so overall my favorite type of music i Christian R&B. Music is cool and i think we will need it forever. My favorite group is a female trio called Trin-I-Tee 5:7. They rock!
I don't think that a test of time is an appropriate measure of a song's level. People tend to lean towards the type of music they grew up with. This means that with most people they will stick to one genre for most of their lives because it is familiar to them. of course, there are exceptions to this rule. I was fortunate to have grown up exposed to all music, but I realize that most people stick to one type of music; the kind they grew up listening. Classical is my favorite because it promotes thought. It is also so passionate and sad-sounding, which for some reason I love.
My favorite type of music is hip hop and r&b. I sometimes listen to Hot 100.5, which plays rap and also other types of music. I think that as the generations are changing in many different ways the music is changing as well. I also don’t think people should be laughed at or judged by the type of music they listen to, because everyone has their own style of music that they enjoy.
