All I can say is wow! This first grader certainly should have some interesting tales at school these days. It seems that he shot a 12 foot long alligator recently. Read the news article! Then we will watch the news video. I wonder how many shots he fired?
I am sure the hunters among you will appreciate this story. What amazes me is that the five year old seems so calm. I would have been so excited that I would be hard pressed to remain quiet about it! The biggest alligator I have seen was on a golf course in SC about 20 years ago. He was probably about 6 feet long, but still frightening to look at! Have you ever seen an alligator?
Now, tell us what you think!

That surprises me because how do you know if it is fake or not? I would hate to be around that kid though. I would hate to be the one to put that alligator in a back of a truck.
Whoaa. I think that little boy was very brave to even get that close to that alligator. It was huge.
This video was very entertaining. The little kid was very brave. I would have been really scared if i had to shoot an alligator.
Wow, that alligator was huge. I think that this video was extremely entertaining. If I was that little boy I would have been scared out of my boots. Thank you for showing this video it was epic for me.
Wow, that kid was crazy! It is kinda scary that a five year old is such a good shot with a gun though. The news lady was kinda wigging the poor boy out though.
All I have to say is WOW! That little 5 year old is braver than me. I think the little boy is crazy, but also very brave. I don’t think I would ever have the guts to do that, I would run.
This story about a five year old killing an alligator was epic. The alligator was twelve in a half feet. It was a remarkable story.
He is a hero. What kind of five year old can shoot a twelve foot gator. Especially when it was five feet away from him.
This is amazing. That kid is awesome. I can't belive that kid shot a 12 ft. alligator! Iloved this video.
Well, I think that the little boy is really brave. If that was me I would have went the other way. It is also very shocking to know that a five year old can handle a gun very well.

I think this 5 year-old kid was very brave when he killed the alligator. The alligators head was as big a the kid himself! He seemed very interested and excited about the kill.
That kid is was really brave to stand there and kill that 800 pound alligator. I was amazed to find out its head a lone weighed 109 pounds. But how could they just randomly switched topics? What does the war have to do with gator hunting? The conversation was completely staged!
I think that it was very brave of the little boy to kill a animal that was 10 times bigger than him. I also think that it was unsafe for the little boy to handle a gun at that age. The video and the blog was very interesting.
I think that the little 5 year old boy is very brave. I wouldn't have got that close to a 12 foot long alligator. If I was his mom my child wouldn't have been out there.
Mr. Downing, how are you? The video was crazy. I think it was crazy that a boy that little shot alligator. He looks like he urinated in his underpants. I don’t think he shot it first because it would have eaten him.
The story about the five year old boy was interesting and scary at the same time. I wouldn’t even be 50 feet away from an alligator and the little boy was 5 feet away. He was very brave. I can’t believe he shot a 12 foot long alligator! Wow
Wow this is amazing! How could a young kid do something like this. I mean he killed an 800 pound alligator. It was also about 35-40 years old.
That boy is crazy. He showed no fear When he was being interviewed. He should join the army or something when he gets older because that absence of fear is rare in people.
I also thinks its funny how ,they say at the end that they are going to eat it. I didn't know people eat alligators.
I think the video was cute. He is a brave little boy. At the end his father shouldn't have made the comments he made, but it was still a good video.
That little boy is an amazing individual. Only five years old and he unflinchingly shot and killed an alligator ten times his size. You just know he's going to grow up to be a big game hunter or something even more impressive.
Haha, that kid reminds me of my family. That just helps the stereotype of Texans and hunting. Alligators are pretty imposing, but eating them is totally worth the hunt.
That little boy was amazing. I would NEVER be able to do that in my whole life, I would just scream my head off. He must be very brave to shoot a gator from that close. He was really cute too!
There is no way you would catch me anywhere near an alligator! I wouldn't even get close to a baby alligator! That little boy is brave and I wish I could be like that, i'm a scardy cat!
Who would've thought, a 5 year old boy shooting a huge alligator? I couldn't even imagine what I would've done if I would've been in his position. I probably would have started screaming and ran away. He has to be like the bravest little boy ever! He is so adorable1:)
I think that the little boy is very brave, to kill an alligator like that. I also think that it was not safe for the boy to have a gun at his age. That alligator was big and that he did a good job on killing it!
That was amazing. If a 5 year old can kill a 12 foot alligator than he must be pretty brave to do that.I would never be able do that I would run the other way.
I think that Simon was really brave for his age! To me I think that someone that’s even an adult wouldn’t have came near an alligator, that little boy is just crazy=]. That news lady was kind of confusing him though, he looked puzzled in the face.
Good lord. Eight hundred pounds! That’s insane! How could that five year old not be afraid??? I’m at a loss for words Mr. Downing, totally speechless.
I think that the kid was very brave. I find it amazing that the gator's head was bigger and heavier than the kid. I am glad that the kid's dad was there.
Wow, that boy was brave. I would run in fear if I came face to face with an alligator. I think it was an very interesting article. Thanks for showing it to me.
