Thanksgiving

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving! What does Thanksgiving mean to you? For some it is a day of football, for others a day to plan their Friday shopping excursions, and for others a chance to enjoy a feast with family and friends. Thanksgiving should also be a day when we reflect on all that we have to be thankful for! Thanksgiving has a long history dating back to the ancient Hebrews, Greeks and Romans. In America it can be traced back over 350 years!

How do you and your family celebrate Thanksgiving? Do you have traditions that you follow? Will you eat too much? Tell us about what you plan on doing for Thanksgiving, and what it means to you in your posting. Remember to use at least three to five sentences!

And, finally, I hope each and every one of you have a happy and safe Thanksgiving!

And, here are a couple of clips to make you smile.

Thanksgiving ROCKS! Thanksgiving is ALL about the TURKEY! Thanksgiving to me is all about eating too much feeling fat and then going being lazy. On Thanksgiving I plan to wake up at noon, go into the kitchen smell the turkey cooking, then go back to bed and sleep. Other than that on Thanksgiving I may Facebook a little, but truthfully Thanksgiving is all about family and friends getting together and eating a lot! Turkey day as some call it is awesome and it is wonderful to be home with family no one running around going to ball games or anything else just a peaceful dinner with lots of turkey!

I believe Thanksgiving is a day to spend time with family and friends. And lets not forget about the FOOD! But as for me, I will be hunting most of the day and eating and working on my truck the rest. Can't wait!

Thanksgiving is a very special holiday because you get to hang out with your whole family. That's what Thanksgiving means to me.

This Thanksgiving my family and friends down the street are planning to join together to have a "Zabinski and Mazzola" Thanksgiving. We will have two turkeys and have this huge pumpkin pie that is taking up the entire top shelf of my fridge. This will be an amazing thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving is the best day for food. It's all about spending time with your family and friends and watching football. But not let's forget about the food because it is one of the best parts about Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving, for me, is a day full of cleaning up after my mother's cooking. I still love Thanksgiving though. Of course I will eat too much. Who won't? Thanksgiving is all about being with your family and eating tons of food.

When I get home today I will be leaving to go to Maryland to spend Thanksgiving with my mom, dad, aunt, uncle, and cousin. It is usually alot of fun and we make all kinds of good food. I always feel fat afterwards but a little Just Dance 3 competition is going to help burn some of that off. I'm so excited.

For me Thanksgiving means a lot. Not only is it 2 days before my birthday but it's a time where I can reflect on all that I am thankful for. Some say we don't have a lot to be thankful for but we really do. I'm thankful for waking up every morning and getting to see my family and friends. This Thankgiving will be one to remember for me. I am going shopping Friday and then Saturday it's my birthday and I will be 16 ( finally). So hopefully all plans go good . Happy Thanksgiving everyone and please be safe !!!!! (:

Thanksgiving is a very important holiday to our family. On Thanksgiving, my dad's side of the family comes over and we have Thanksgiving dinner. That is our tradition. I love Thanksgiving!

My family always celebrates Thanksgiving at my cousin's house in Newport News (they have the best dining room in the family). It's tradition that we cook two turkeys: one regular, one smoked. Our side dishes are creamed corn, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, corn bread, and a lot more. The adults always make brie and crackers and fried oysters, which I don't enjoy very much. Typically me and my sister end up sneaking away to Starbucks after a while to get away from the crazy women in the kitchen. It's my crazy family that I'm thankful for, and I'll always love all of them with all my heart.

Thanksgiving is a day of eating, sleeping, and relaxing with friends and family. I think the best part after thanksgiving is the leftovers. My mom makes enough for thanksgiving and after.

Thanksgiving to my family means a get together. Rarely do we all sit down at the same table and eat a meal. This is one of the occasions that we do. As far as traditions, each person helps my mom prepare one part of the meal. Once the meal is laid out we go around the table and everyone says one thing they are thankful for. Thanksgiving is more than just a big meal for my family and I.

I think thanksgiving is about having supper with family and friends. But for me, I will be hunting all weekend and eating turkey. I am thankful for my family and friends and to be as fortunate as I am.
Happy Turkey Day Everyone!

My family and I do the usual prepare a feast, sit down at the table, get stuffed full of food to the point of explosion, and switch the television from the Macy's Day Parade to football. Traditionally my dad is watching football while my mom and I are in the kitchen cooking, baking, and setting everything in place for the meal. It is guaranteed that we will be stuffed and hurting from eating so much delicious food. My family already did Thanksgiving on Sunday and we will still be watching the parade and then football afterward those are our only plans.

I’m so thankful that I am as blessed as I am. I don't mean to sound cheesy, but I'm thankful for my family, who continues to support my decisions and sacrifice their time and money for me. I'm thankful for my best friends Emily, Leslie, Marquese, and last but not least, Sarah. All of you have been great friends to me in this whole moving process. I'm thankful for my boyfriend, Sam, who always there for me whether I need to laugh or cry. Most of all, I'm thankful for my Lord and Savior, who is the reason I'm breathing today. Love you all! XOXOXO!

We celebrate thanksgiving by eating. Which is always nice. It's a pretty normal day, except with my brothers being over. Besides inviting family out we don't have any traditions.
Also, who doesn't eat too much on thanksgiving? We have a full out feast at my house. Other than eating though I don't plan on doing anything.

Well, my family used to always go to northern Virginia to my grandmother's house... But that doesn't happen anymore (The last time we went we took our camper and she locked us out of her house.. on purpuse!) It was not the fondest memory! Now we go to my auntie's house in Suffolk.

I am thanful for a roof over my head and food on my plate. Although that's what many people might say, I am sincere about it!

This year, we will be going to my step-dad's family's house for Thanksgiving for lunch. For dinner, we are going to my Granny's house, which is my mom's side of the family. We always have a good time at both houses.

Thanksgiving is an awesome time to be able to reflect on just how lucky we have it. My whole family meets at one place and sits at a long table together to eat a big turkey dinner. It is such a wonderful feeling to be able to look all around me and see the happy, smiling faces of the people that I love. Since my parents are divorced, I have to attend a lot of different family events each and every holiday, but that's not so bad. I just enjoy the time with my family. I have so much to be thankful for in my life and what a perfect opportunity to get to share my gratitude with everyone I know and care about. I can't wait!
Oh and thank you Mr. Downing for being such a great teacher! :)

Me and my family usually make a turkey and make lasagna for thanksgiving. I plan on speniding time with my family and watching the Maceys Thaksgiving day parade that morning. I probably will eat just a bit too much, but who doesn't eat too much on Thanksgiving? I honestly love Thanksgiving, but it's not my favorite holiday. Not even close.
