Have you heard "The Mom Song" by comedienne Anita Renfroe? The YouTube sensation has been seen many times, both on television and the Internet. Here is the premise: in just about three minutes she sings all the things a mom might say in a typical day. Very funny and also entertaining!
Of course, as with many discussions between parents and teens, there are probably going to be some comments. Let's watch Ms. Renfore's version. And of course the teen's perspective. Is that a normal thing to follow the first video? After you have viewed the videos, post your comments (remember 3-5 sentences).

This the most stupid video i ever seen. This lady look like Sara Palin. plus she was goin so fast i could not even here what she said.
The first video is so totally my own mom and it drives me crazy. The second video isn't completely me but a lot of it is. I personally think that the videos are amusing though.
This song is so annoying. I thought the song would never end. They should restrict how many energy drinks she can buy at once. The other video is just as bad because her voice is annoying and she sounds like a chipmunk.
These videos were annoying and they both have very annoying voices. Over-all though the songs have good meaning, I just don't know why people make them so popular. It's really not that big of a deal. (◦'⌣'◦)
I thought that the videos were funny. They were surprisingly accurate too. I wished that some of the other student in my class would shut up while the video was playing and stop complaining about it. Their voices were ten times more annoying than the videos.
i cant believed people paid to see her shes not funny and the other girl had a annoying voice 1. 2. 3. theirs the three periods you complain about
The first video was almost everything my mom would say!! The second video was normal. One reason I said that because every teen have ask for something, and their mom would just go off for no reason.
Both of the songs were annoying in my opinion, especially the "Mom Song", even though the second one may have been true in some points of the video. I understand the point they both were trying to put across, but they failed at being funny or amusing.
My question is how much "parenting" did she miss while she came up with song? It was a severe waste of my time and her own. And I have never had a headache from a video this bad in my life. This was definitely not how I wanted to start my day. But I have got to give it to her. she has no shame, and was not nervous one bit.
This video was so stupid. I wanted to slap Mr. Downing for playing it, but it won't his fault. they suck at life.
I tought it was annoying and boring. I don`t get how she could sing that long, i would get tired and irritated after a while. .The lyrics were annoying. the other girl is straight up annoying.

“LIKE OMG” “LOL” that video was wack! Yay, now I can get her email and phone number off of her website! I disagree with the original mom song because well mothers don’t do all of that! They just fuss and scream and make us teens do chores! The teenager’s video was ok if you put a voice like Marc Cowling in there. In my opinion mothers may do a lot “cough” but sometimes they need to just look back at when they were teenagers and understand we don’t want them breathing down our back 24/7. “OMG” there should totally be a “Dad Song.” Also the teenage boy’s perspective of the mom song would be awesome. Lyrics would be as such, “I can’t go catch that on fire?” “HUH” that’s all we need to say.
The mom song is so annoying. I couldn't even watch the whole video. And not all moms are like that. I don't think she's an actual mom. If she was, she would be home taking care of her kids. Not writing a song about what a parent does. So overall, annoying song, she wasn't funny, and a complete waste of 3 minutes of my life.

i did not think that the mom was funny at all. she was very annoying and it made me very sad to watch that video. i really hope we never watch it again.
josh said this...
That is exactly how my mom sounds sometimes. I agree with what the girls said in the second video. Moms were put on earth to nag us teenagers and we should just let it go in threw one ear and out the other.

The first video was a bit over the top and a little annoying. But it was funny and definitely got the point across. The second video was also funny. It was cool to see the other side of that song. First it was mother to child, then child to mother.
I think it was funny because i can relate to some of that stuff. I think they should make a teen guys version of it. I favor the orchestra more than the song, but it did have its moments.
The videos are kind of cool and sort of funny. Some of the stuff is what my mom will say. They other video with the teen is something I will definitely do sometimes. They were kind of creative to come up with something like that. But I liked the videos
Well honestly the moms song wasn't all that great, she had a great point. But then again the daughter has a great point, we just want our own space and some parents don't give that to us. The songs were annoying and i thought they would never end.
Its wasn't a good song to me I didn't like it at all
Wow! The girl in the second video, her voice was very annoying. She was off beat. And she was ugly. It was a good try though. The mom was talking way to fast for me. I can relate to some of that stuff I heard her say. It was an alright video overall.
That's exactly how my mom is. I thought that the videos were very annoying though. But they did have a good point to them.

I remember this video... Mom showed it to me... I think its really dumb, but I understand the mom's point of view. I agree with the teen's view as well.

I think this was a very annoying video. But at the same time it was funny because some of it is true. Some of the things she said kinda sounded just like my mom.

Well, we were instructed to read these comments from 2nd block before watching the video. I don't think it was as bad as some of these people claim it was, but it did happen to be like nails on a chalkboard for 3 minutes and 16 seconds. And the little girl that came afterward proved some pretty good points, though her voice was kind of annoying. My mom is NOTHING like that...anymore. Thank goodness for that.

First off "The Mom Song" is hilarious in my opinion. I hear pretty much everything that the woman in the song sang especially the "are you really wearing that?" part. However I thoroughly enjoyed the teenage girl's response song to "The Mom Song". The woman singing "The Mom Song" and the teenage girl with the response to the mom song were both very witty and sarcastic to come up with both of those songs which I can appreciate & enjoyed.
To start off, "Coty", I'm sure Mr. Downing feels the same way about you..
Anyway, I thought the first video was funny. It kind of condensed all of the funny things I think back on that my mom has said to me. I can see how some people would think it was annoying. I guess they just have harder parents. The second video to me was the annoying one. The girl looked like she had some nasty attitude towards lifee.. Still, funny though.
That's how I fell some times. She sings really fast and its kind of funny because her name is Anita and my mom’s name is Anita, (LOL. sometimes I am sure my mom feels that why I like this song.
Ashley Renee' Rife :) :D <3 ( Mr. Downing's favorite student!!!)
You would think that with this woman being so busy with her kids she wouldn't have time to waste making this song. The second girl was pretty but her mannerisms really got on my nerves. It was catchy though, i'll give them both that. This video is better than the older woman's first song though http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rCbPqi3virQ&feature=player_embedded#!
you tell em Alex
Had they been able to hit at least one note through that whole song I might have been more appreciative of it. I never found any thing that relates to my mom or me, but my mom and I get along for the most part. Overall I disliked it.
I thought the video was kind of hard to sit through. I agree with it being like nails on chalkboard. It was that bad. I could have lived my whole life without listening to it. But it wasn't as bad as everybody thinks it was either.
I enjoyed the first video, with the mother. The second video, I found quite annoying. Not all teenagers act like that. I hardly ask my mom for anything, but at some point all parents say the things in the first video. I think everyone who had commented earlier overreacted about the videos. Saying how bad they were and annoying. They were true, that's what they are.
To be honest, I liked the video. It was kind of hard to keep up with, but it flow very nicely :) It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be looking at all of the comments below.
I liked the first video! Haha! I understood it! I didn't really like the second one! She seemed quite prissy about it.. I know I'm not like that! ;)
I wasn't really affected by the videos like everyone else were. However, my mom really does relate to a lot of what the woman talked about. So do I though. Overall, lots of moms are like that and so are some teens. I am in some ways also.

Man o my god that was like the worst 6 minutes of my entire life. the first chick did look like a wanna be Sara Palen. I hope that never happens to me again in my entire life
I like the moms version because I could actually understand what she was saying the girl I didnt understand a word she was saying I had to listen to every other word to understand.
The things the first lady talked about definitly sounded like things my mom would say. I didn't like the songs. They have a point though.
I do not like this at all. I think it's just like my family and how they act. It's how my dad treats me and I do not like it! All us kids need our free time!
I like the moms version because I could actually understand what she was saying the girl I didnt understand a word she was saying I had to listen to every other word to understand.
To be absolutely honest I didn't like either of the videos. However, if I had to choose between the "Mom Song" and the other one, I would choose the "Mom Song." I am only one person, yet I have so many different opinions, I'm not the only one that does so I decided to voice my opinion.

Your mom does so much for you!
It wasn't that bad, but I have heard it before. I liked the second one better, because it was from a teenagers point of view. But she is definately not Chris Brown.
I didn't enjoy these videos especially the teenage girl's video. I couldn't really understand her. The moms voice was annoying. These videos are true and it's like this with my mom. Haha but I love her.
These two videos are very odd. I think it is even odder that i enjoyed them. still it was wonderful.
Wow, those videos were very interesting! I have to agree with the view of the mother because I am aware that my mom does a lot for me all day long. Her job never ends between having to take care of me and my sister. I don't agree with the view of the teenager. I think I am an acception to what the average teenager is. I don't cause that much trouble for my parents. The videos were very creative but kind of sterotypical! It, however, gave me more of an insight on how much mothers have to do. Although, as teenagers, we are just as busy!
This sounds like something my mom would say! Well every mom really. I didn't really like the teenagers version because the voice didn't match up to the way her lips were moving! Which made me question if she really has the ability to sing like the real mom!
Anita Renfroe is completely obnoxious! She needs to slack up on her kids and maybe they would cooperate with her more. I feel for her children. The girl in the second video was just odd. If she would have spook up and hadn't talked all low and muffled, I would've been able to understand what she was saying.
I meant *spoke
That song is everything my mom says. The teenager though was sort of a brat, no offense. Your parents make rules for areason. Most likely, because they screwed up when they were kids and don't want you to make the same mistakes. So shut up, and listen!!!!
