After much discussion, it is time to begin blogging as a class.Thank you for checking out this blog. This is intended to be a teaching tool for my classes. Just a few quick rules. First, be respectful, tolerant and positive in your comments. Remember that this is an open blog and anyone (including your classmates) can see what you write. Do a good job! Second: You must post to my blog to earn your full class participation grade for that day. We blog on many, but not all days. Thirdly, your comments must be grammatically correct and spelled properly. Fourth: have fun! Now before you post, let's discuss my expectations for this activity in greater detail.

I think what you wrote is very good and understanding. One reason is doing these blogs can help our grade. The second reason is to learn more and dicuss with our class new things! And last to be respectful because you wouldn't want any one to publish anything bad on your blog!

I personally think that the blog is something new and different which I like. Never before have I been in a class with a blog. I am curious to see where this blog goes and how it will be run within this class. I hope that my peers will follow the rules and that this blog will be very successful.

I believe that if we can blog and are able to express ourselves in front of anyone that views, it will help us to think about what we say before it comes out of our mouths. And it will also give us another chance to earn a good grade throughout our day. Great idea Mr. Downing!
I think that the blog is a good idea, and an efficient tool that we can use for the teaching of our class. The blog also may help bring up our grades for participation, and possibly even teach us something new! In an overall conclusion, I think the blog will bring only positive effects for our classroom, as long as people follow all of the rules and remain respectful and diligent.
It is a cool idea because it helps to keep the class in order. Also you are able to see who is following your instructions.

In my opinion the rules on blogging are "DUH" common sence material. Blogging in class will assist the student in learning how to become better at blogging. The point of this blog is to iform students that it may be funny to post something stupid and funny on a blog but in the long run it just makes you look like a "Dumb @$$." Blogging is going to be fun and interesting and hopefully we can keep the ability as long as no one in the class posts something completely stupid.
Blog is a good thing to say because you get to say what you want. Another thing about blogging is you get to post about anything and you get a good grade.
I think this s really good for the class. It will teach some people how to spell can keep there grammar right. Plus, it might be fun!

i think this blog was a very good idea, i would have neer thought of it. Mr.downingbut have a lot of time to do this beacause he has soooooo....... many posts.
Blogging is new to me. From the looks of it, it doesn't look like a bad idea at all. Everything in school is getting newer and newer and I feel like blogging is becoming the new class discussion. In this way, I believe that this is a very good idea. Not all students are comfortable putting their thoughts in public through speaking; I believe this will change these people and let their voices be heard.

I think its a good way to keep class interesting. Its a way to state our opinion on certain things, we also get to see other people opinion. Other people get to state their thoughts on what we say. We get to say if we agree or do not agree on a certain topic. Its also an easy grade.

Learning how to write a blog and how to properly respond to them is something iimportant that needs to be taught. I think it's a good way to keep us updated on current events and a way to improve our writing. Overall I think it's a good idea.

GRRRRRRRRR I'm so mad that this didn't work the first time but anyway. I think it's a great idea. we did this in Mrs. Ironmongers class but I hated it cause I didn't have internet. But, hopefully this will go smooth.
