The Blonde Controversy

People always say "Oh my God did you see that blonde?!" Blonde haired people always seem to get the most attention whether it be in the media, or just everyday life. This may be because their hair is usually bright and shiny,or maybe it is simply because it stands out from more common dark colors.  However that is not my point. I want to ask the world famous question: "Are blondes really the best?"

A big thank you to today's guest blogger, who wished to remain anonymous.

Hair color should not be the only factor in determining attractiveness, or for that matter any trait. However, many of you have heard the expression: "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder." There are plenty of attractive people with many different hair colors.

Many people tend to associate blondes with diminished intelligence, leading to the many "blonde" jokes. In my opinion hair color, eye color, shoe size or any other factor does not determine the intelligence of one group of people over another.

I personally do not find blonde guys attractive. I also do not believe in the stereotypical blonde. I'm true born burnette and can have my "blonde moments".

Hair color should not matter, but I guess that's just my opinion. There's several other features of a person that could be recognized. And the feature may not be physical. Some people prefer a certain hair color of a person rather than other things, but someone could have blond hair or which ever color you prefer and still may not be the person for you.

I believe that blondes are really no different then the rest of the world. I believe that there hair is just naturally brighter and stands out in a crowd. And only just a little bit more than the national average hair color, brown like mine! And I do NOT believe that blonds are all dumb, I think they just act like they are to stand out even more. It just has to do with there personality.

To me hair color doesn`t really matter. It is mainlly about the person not about what color your hair is.Most people look at the inside of a person not outside or how you look, it is mainly about heart.

Hair color should not determine who is better. It should not determine someone's intelligence, either. People should not judge someone's worth by their hair color alone.

I think girls with blonde hair are more attractive. But I like all hair colors. I don't think blonde hair is dominant over every hair color.

i think blonds are better because they stand out a little more. girls with dark hair dont stand out as much. red heads u never really see

I personally do not think that hair color should matter as part of the key features of an individual It should also not label someone's personality or levels of intelligence, no matter if they happen to have blonde hair, brown hair, or even red hair. I've met many blonde-haired people that are frankly not dumb in any sense, and do not have so-called "blonde moments".

I think that blondes are no different from a girl with black hair. I think that some people can take it to far when they joke on a girl with blonde hair. But I don't think hair color should be a problem with a girl.

Blondes in my opinion are the best. Yet it all depends on what the person judging prefers. For me I just have a thing for blondes it just is natural to me. I have just never had a long relationship with anyone other than a blonde. As Mr. Downing says some people associate blondes as people with diminished intelligence. Well look around, there are dumb people with all sorts of hair color. Blondes are more catching to my eye, but it all depends on the one own preferences.

I don't think hair color has anything to do with being the best or not. Honestly wheather a guy is attracted to you or not it should'nt be based on hair color. Also I really think that a person should be recognized for who they are inside and not what they appear to be on the outside.

I don`t realy care about hair color. I don`t think blondes are better than burnettes or better than people with black hair. To me its about how that person acts towards other people, If they act like they are better than the whole world then I could care less about them, now someone who is friendly towards people then I might consider talking to them.

I don't think hair color matters. And having brown, black, blond, or etc. hair colors doesn't make you better than anyone else. I think it is the person who makes him or herself stand out more than others.

To me hair isn't really the main feature I look at in a guy. I also think that "blondes" are really not the best. Also the last thing, people say that 'blondes" are not that smart, but I seen smart people with that color hair so that is one reason I do not determine people by their hair.

Hair color should not matter. I honestly do not care about hair color. I do like blond jokes though.

Everyone is unique in their own way. Whether its hair color, eye color, their size, or their personality. But yes, I do believe blondes are the best. Yes, I am blonde.

Hair color really shouldn't determine who is more attractive. Blondes do get a lot of attention just because they stand out more. It shouldn't matter the hair color but more the personality.

Personally, hair color is not an essential attraction for me. Girls can be beautiful with an infinite amount of hair colors. Blondes are unfairly made fun of for being stupid, so being blonde isn't too spectacular. It's nice to meet a girl who is just as beautiful on the inside as on the outside.

Quinterra said...

I guess people with blonde hair get the attention because it is a bright color. Also they have their "blonde" moments. But in my opinion its just a hair color so it shouldn't really bring attention like that. It's eally not that surprising to me.

Anonymous said...

Blondes are not the best. They're the same as any other hair color. It's ridiculous to judge someone based on hair color. Personality and appearance are the biggest factors in judging people, not the color of their hair.

As a brunette, I think the blonde thing is overrated and truthfully there are just as many guys that like brunettes, that like blondes. It's all about personal preference. I personally think that darker hair is more attractive because it has that sultrier look. A lot of blondes just look pale and washed out, not all of them. It really doesn't matter what color a person’s hair is and it shouldn't determine your feelings for that person.

ALEX said...

I don't believe in people being "better" than other people. Nor do I like to compare people through things that they have no control over. Though it might sound hypocritical for me to say now, I do like blonds better. No offense to brown haired people; myself being one. I just find it more attractive on females. You can be pretty with any color hair your born with, but my personal preference is a short blue eyed blond haired gal(;

“Blonde’s” Well I don’t really think we are the best but everybody has their own thoughts of looks. I definitely don’t think I’m the brightest in the bunch. To me blonde guys aren’t that appealing, then again it’s all in what you like.

No blonds are not the best. They are usually talked about the most because they are known not to be all to smart in most subjects. so to me blonds are not the best they just got a bad reputation.

A girls hair color shouldn't determine wether a guy wants to talk to them or not. I have 3 different colors in my hair. If a guy judges a girl by her hair color or anything else other than her personality then that guy doesn't deserve to be with that particular girl. Everyone is unique in their own way.

Sierra F said...

I personally do not believe that hair color is associating factor that determines someone's intelligence. Everyone has their "blonde moments" at times no matter what their hair color is. However I also do not believe in certain people getting special treatment just because of the way that they look. Hair color also should not be the only factor that determines someone's attractiveness so I would have to say "no blondes are not the best" simply because many different people are beautiful and it is not always because of their physical appearance.

A blonde isn;t no different from any other person. People take it far when they joke blondes I dont think its funny.

Blondes to me are just regular people. I don't really see much difference in them. Besides the fact that they may be a little dippier than others. I mean every one can have there moments but I believe blondes have more moments than Dark haired people.

The theory that blondes have the most attention may be true. But think, maybe they dye their hair before they become popular to enhance the said theory. Conspeiracy? no not really. I dont even know why its that important. Maybe somebody just brought up a point that made some sense and people rolled with it.

I don't really care what people think what blondes are; if they think which is better. It's no big deal. I think it's immature when someone says "Oh, you're blonde!" Especially when they aren't even blonde. There's plenty of not-so-smart brunettes and redheads. It's not just blondes.

Raegan Hasty said...

Just because somebody is blonde doesn't make them any different or better than the rest of us. Most blondes just use the saying "Blondes are more fun!" to get attention because some have no other way to stand out. (emphasis on some) Personally the saying is really overated and over used. It is annoying when some blondes act ditsy, it's like get a grip!

Caroline Steele said...

I don't think hair color matters. I also don't like it when people make jokes about blondes. I don't think blondes are any better than brunettes.

Chelsea Marie said...

Well, I personally don't think that anyone with any particular hair color is better than anyone else. I, myself am naturally blonde, but choose to dye my hair brown along time ago. To me, hair color has nothing to do with personality, who is better, or any thing else. It's just a hair color.

Amanda Chappell said...

Since I have blonde hair, I feel a little biased to this subject. I personally hate blonde jokes and how blondes are diminished in society just because of their hair color. For most people, it is not even their natural hair color but people just dye it because "blondes have more fun." I don't believe that a person should be judged because of their hair color or any other personal features. It's what is on the inside that truly counts! Although most of the people I have dated have had blonde hair, that is not the simple explanation for why I am attracted to them.

Jake D, said...

I like any color of hair. It should not really matter what your hair color is. But blondes do stand out. Alot of blondes I know are really smart, and they have alot of common sense.

Jasmine M. said...

I'm naturally blonde so of course I think blondes are the best. The reputation that comes with being a blonde isn't the best though. Hair color is just another barrier that divides people though. So hair color shouldn't have an effect on people's perception of others. That doesn't change anything though, I know plenty of blondes that don't fit the stereotype of being dumb, or just being "slow". It's a dumb way to judge people.

Dylan D. said...

Imean Knowbody is better than anybody. I think everybody is born for a reason and not for their looks. I could careless about a girls or guys hair color it makes no difference of what your hair color is. It has nothing to do with someone being better than somebody else.

anna dematteooo said...

I don't think blondes have anything over brunettes or redheads. It should be what lies from within which finds people more or less attractive. Anyway, there are many attractive people in this world that aren't blonde!

Emma Grace said...

Blondes are not the best! Neither hair colored person is the "BEST"! Yes, a lot of blondes are, so called, "ditsy". But then again I see ditsy brunettes, too. If someone is stupid its because they are stupid... not because they're blonde.
Ignorance and dingbatness is not by a hair color, just by personality and brain wirage! Some people are just not as correctly or equally wired as others, and feel they need more attention... making fools out of themselves! Its quite annoying most of the time.

"Blondes have fun!... But brunettes remember it!"

I don't think that hair color should determine the "best." It's all up to the person with the different hair colors. I know some people that have blonde hair and have EXTREMELY dull personalities. Of course I know people that have darker hair colors and some of them have really dull personalities too. So, hair color doesn't matter, everyone can have their own opinion and everyone will, it's just a matter of voicing them.

Lindsey Ball said...

I don't think that blonde hair matters when it comes to attractiveness. I honestly don't care what your hair color is, or how popular you are. It's just genetics. Personality means more than the tint of your hair that you inherited by your parents.
1 Peter 3:3-4
"Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair and of wearing of gold or of putting on of apparel; But let it be the hidden."
Look at who they are inside, not what the wear or what color their eyes and hair is.

Alexandra Zalesny said...

I think the color of your hair should not matter we are all different and us blondes are known to be not smart. Well me as being a blonde it is not fun and most of the time the blondes are the ones that come up with a way to solve the problem not casue it. Not all blondes are not smart. Hair color should not be the only thing you look for in a person you should look at there personality not the hair color!!!!

Austin Meier said...

I don't think that hair color on anyone defines them. Just because your blonde doesn't mean your different from anyone else. Blondes feel the same emotions and everything else that redheads and burnettes do. Physical features on a person doesnt determine who they are. Personaly I think many physical features can be misleading. Someone can be really beautiful on the outside and be a really mean, ugly person on the inside. Therefore it doesn't matter what hair color, eye color, or any other physical feature you have. What really matters is how you are on the inside.

Sandy said...

No Blond is not attractive to me at all. I do think most blonds act like they are not intellagent for attention, but really hair color shouldnt matter, But blonde people do have their moments.

Morgan Myers said...

I have "blonde moments" all the time.. But I hate when people make blondes jokes, basically calling blondes dumb. We're just as smart as you! Hair color doesn't determine your intelligence but I definitly think "blondes have more fun." :p

$hyanne said...

My hair turns blond in the summer so of course i think that blonds are the best, but brunettes are better! I really wonder who came up with the so called "blond moments". Because even brunettes and redheads may say something not so smart at a time! So it's kind of hair racism when people say "you just had a blond moment". Because everyone has DUMB MOMENTS! You know the saying don't judge a book by its cover? Well you shouldn't judge someone by the color of their hair. Hair is like an accessory, and everyone has a right to their individuality!

Gerald P. said...

Hair color should not be factored in to attractiveness. There are some cute people who aren't blonde and are brunette or any other hair color. Even though I find blonde jokes hilarious, it is politically incorrect.

Breon $ said...

I don't really think hair colors mattter. It doesn't make anyone smarter. I think how you present yourself determines how much youstand out.

Emma Grace said...

Also, blondes(anyone) may be "intelligent" on book, but not all the time with common sense! vice versa
