Resolutions

Did you make a New Year's resolution? Many people make them and as the statistics show, many keep them at least for a little while. Did you make a resolution? If you did , do you want to share it with the group?

My resolution was to put my dishes in the dishwasher instead of leaving them in the sink. So far, I am doing pretty good! Yes, I slip up from time to time but that is expected, is it not?

What do you think of New Year's resolutions? Are they worth making? If you have a difficult time keeping it, does that mean you have failed? And, finally what is the strangest resolution you have heard or witnessed?

New Year's resolution is a good idea, I think. It is a chance to make a goal and try to stick to it. I have a few resolutions that I am going to try to stick to for the year of 2009. Usually I try to make resolutions about school, but this year it's a little bit more personal. I do not think that I have really heard a strange resolution yet. The person making them obviously thinks it's something that they need to do, so no New Year's resolution should be considered strange. Some are very different, though.

This year my resolution was to stay fit while i'm not playing sports. I am hoping to keep mine for as long as possible. In order to reach my goal I am attending weight lifting throughout the week and I am watching what I eat at home. I think New Year's resolutions are worth it if you put out the time and effort needed to reach them. I think they are good because it pushes people to accomplish something. I do not think that you have failed just because it is hard keeping it. I can not think of a very strange resolution that I have heard lately.

I didn’t make a New Years resolution. I find it very difficult to keep them. They are good for people that are very strong willed and can do whatever they set there mind too. They are worth making if you can stick to them. It does not mean that you have failed if you can not complete your resolution; it just means you’re still working on becoming a better person.

I never make New Years resolutions, mostly because I know myself well enough to know I will not follow it. Lets say that I made a resolution to cut down on drinking soda. Well suppose I went to a party and all they were serving is soda. Then the resolution does not seem all that important anymore. I don't see why people wait until the new year comes before they try to better themselves; why not stop procrastinate when you can just start at any given time?

I think if a New Year's resolution, is what you need to make that’s fine, but personal I didn’t make one. Most likely I wont follow threw so why fail my self? Some people make them and do great, and that’s wonderful for them but for me, that’s not what I need, I take things as they come.

I did not make a New Years resolution. I guess my resolution was to not make a resolution. Unless I really have something big I want to work on I don't think they are necessary. However, I'm not saying they have to be big to be important. I didn't feel like taking the time to think of something that wasn't that big of a deal to me becuase I knew that I probably wouldn't keep it. I think it is good to make resolutions but it also doesn't have to be the start of a new year to make them. if it is something you want to work on then you should just do it. It doesn't matter what time of year.

I really didn’t make any New Year’s resolutions. But then I have things I need to do better at and that I hope I do. I think that people should make New Year’s resolutions to start out the year right by changing it and making it better than the years before. If you have a hard time trying to keep your resolution I don’t think you have failed completely because you can keep trying and there are so many years to come. So if you don’t succeed this year there is always next year. I know that this year my dads New Year’s resolution is to eat more. It’s not like it hasn’t before.

I think that New Years resolutions are some times hard to keep. The reason why I say that is because you can sometimes easily forget them. I mean some people just have so much to do that it actually slips there minds. My resolution was to make better grades so I can follow my dream to go to ODU and become a Lady Monarch and later on after that go to the WNBA. Although I'm kind of slacking up on that dream I would never giveup on it.

My New Year’s resolution was not to drank that mean more sodas anymore. So far I have not had a soda since school let out. I think that there are ok to make because people like too make plains before there do something. Yes there are worth making them because it give people some support so there can feel good about themselves. Just because you did not do what you said what you was going to do does not mean that you have failed. I really don’t know.

New Year's Resolutions are very helpful because they help people set goals and maintain goals. Even if you do not follow through with your resolution, you are atleast trying to set goals so that is a step in the right direction. I think they are worth making because it helps people better themselves in some way. The wierdest resolution I think I have heard is by a celebrity on some tv show. I can't even remember who it was or what station it was, I just remember the actor stating his New Year's Resolution as "stepping foot in all my houses, if I can find them all." Celebrities are crazy some times.

I think that resolutions are great to come up with. Everybody should have one, because some of everybody should have an goal that they would love reach. Some may not meet their goal in the time they wold like but they will eventually get. I will like to keep my goals to myself.

I think that New Year's resolutions are good if you actually plan on sticking to it. Personally, I hardly ever make a New Year's resolution because it just adds on too much stress. If I make a New Year's resolution, if will be about some thing that will help improve my life. Sometimes I don't think that New Year's are not worth doing because it seems most people just waste their time. Some people have successfully completed their New Year's resolution, but most people don't even last the first month. If you have trouble keeping your resolution it doesn't mean you failed, you just need to try harder. I haven't really heard any strange resolutions, but I'm sure I will.

New years resolutions are not something I partake in because I think there a waste of my time. New Year’s resolutions are just something you say you’re going to do.
They a re a waste of time because if you said you were going to put up the dishes all year and clean up the house and didn’t how can a resolution stop you from being lazy.

I think that New Year Resolutions are good to make, it is a fresh start to the New Year if you are truly trying to change something in your life. If you don't keep to your resolution, I don't necessarily think you failed if you tried to keep it. I think if you know that you messed up and continue, then that is failing. I have done a New year's Resolution, and it's up to me to keep that, and I will see what the turn out will be.

I have never made a New Year's resolution because I do not see the point. The reason I say this is because people will change when they feel like it. The fact that it is New Year's does not mean you feel like changing. I feel that people feel forced to change for the New Year's because it is a tradition. That is not a good reason for me. You have got to honestly want to change.

I’ve never seen the point of a new year’s resolutions. I don’t think I have met someone who has kept a resolution all year. It last a week or two and they are done. Resolutions are pointless. The reason I don’t make one is because they are pointless and if I fail to keep it I wouldn’t care. I don’t know of any strange resolutions because I don’t pay attention to them and I just don’t care.

I think that New Year’s resolutions are a good time for everyone to set goals for something that they want to do or are trying to get better at. I do believe that New Year resolutions are worth making. I have never witnessed a strange New Year’s resolution that I can remember, I have actually always heard advanced ones that will usually be hard but I know they can do it. If you have a difficult time keeping your New Year resolution does not mean you have failed it just means you should try harder and don’t give up because you have to fail a few times before you will ever succeed. Failure in my opinion leads to success eventually as long as you stick to it. A lot of times when people don’t succeed the first time they just decide they can’t do it but they really can if they just stay with it and try harder each time.

I did not make a new years resolution. I forgot to make one and I most likely would have made one I wouldnt keep. New years resolutions are good for some people as in it helps them stay on track. Most people dont keep them.

I didn’t make a New Year’s resolution because I never do. I feel like if I want to change I’ll do it when I feel like and having a New Year’s resolution won’t make me change any faster. I just don’t see the point in having one. In my opinion, people don’t need New Year’s resolutions. I mean if you want to change, why not do it right now instead of waiting for a new year?

I think that New Years Resolutions are pointless. I do not make them. If people want to change or better themselves they can do it whenever they want. I guess New Years is just a starting point so that they will remember it. Most New Years Resolutions are hard to keep because people forget them. Overall, I think that people should learn to become better because it’s the right thing to do, not because of tradition.

This year I guess I kind of forgot to make a New Years Resolution. As dumb as it may seem, its true. I think if you make a New Years Resolution and are strong enough to keep it then you are a good person, not saying people who don’t make them at all or cant keep them are bad, it just takes a strong person to do that. They’re worth making whether you can keep them or not because they let you know you can make a goal for yourself. I can’t remember what the strangest one I heard was but I’m sure there’s some out there.

I have never made a New Year's resolution. Because in my opinion I think it's not that important. I think when someone wants to change something they do it when there ready. Personally I didn't even know about the resolution until this year! But I think that if someone does want to do it that fine there trying too change, and that’s good.

I have never in my life made a New Year’s Resolution. I do, however, think that they can help you with your goals. Which makes them definitely worth making because they can help you achieve things. I think if you can’t commit to your resolution, you have completely failed. The weirdest New Year’s Resolution I have ever heard is “I will always check for toilet paper before using the restroom”.

I like the theory behind New Year's resolutions, but I don't understand why you have to wait until New Year's to better yourself. I don't think I've ever made (until last New Year's) a resolution. The ones that I've heard so far were all pretty standard, like "I wanna lose weight", or "I'm gonna cut back on chocolate." Things most people would say. The weirdest thing that I've heard anyone say was "I can't tell you my resolution cause then it won't come true." Then I had to explain to this person that they were thinking of wishes. I did make a New Year's resolution this year, but it is a little personal. I do intend to keep it, though

I think that New Year’s Resolutions are ok to make as long as it is something that can be accomplished. They are worth making if you go through with them. If you have a difficult time keeping it, it does not mean you’ve failed because you are still trying. I think the strangest resolution I have heard was from a little boy at church. His New Year’s resolution was to get more video games.

I never have any kind of New Year’s resolution in my life. In my opinion I really don’t need one because I’m doing what I suppose to do just fine. New Year’s resolution is something that you going to do differently in that year. Some New Year’s resolutions are may be worth keeping to some people.

I really think a New Year's resolutions are worth making even if you keep them or not. A New Year’s resolution to me is when you try to make a change and something that you do or something that has become a habit and you don’t think it’s good. Many people don’t always stick to it but to me that’s natural because you most people make mistakes but it’s up to that person to try it again. This means that when you find yourself not doing what you said you were going to do just work at it and at time it will get better. At a point and time you will get used to doing it. So it is worth having a New Year’s resolutions.
