Veteran's Day

Today is Veteran's Day. Who is a veteran? More importantly, why do we celebrate Veterans on this day? Do you know the history of Veteran's Day?
Please tell me in a paragraph of at least five good sentences the history of Veteran's Day and why it is important to remember it!

Veteran's Day is the day when we Americans celebrate those who have fought and died for our country. It started out as Armistice Day, due to the Armistice signed that ended World War one on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month. It was changed after World War two by President Dwight D. Eisenhower to include all people who have served our country honorably. Americans today celebrate this holiday by going to parades, visiting veterans in the hospital, and donating supplies to veterans. The most famous celebration that takes place is the one at Arlington National Cemetary in Washington, D. C.

Veteran's day means a lot to many Americans. Veteran's day is a day when Americans celebrate the freedoms that we still have. We still have these freedoms because of the brave men and women who sacrificed their lives in order to save our country. This day was known as Armistice day many years ago until President Dwight D. Eisenhower felt that it was necessary to call November eleventh Veteran's day. On this day in History on the 11th day of the 11th month and on the 11th hour the peace treaty was signed to end the war. I think that Veteran's day is very important and everyone should participate in the activities that are held.

A veteran is someone who has or is working in the armed forces, or a person who has had long experience in an occupation or office. Today November 11 is known as Veterans Day because in 1918 on this day the Allied powers signed an agreement with Geramny to end World War 1.Between the wars, November 11 was commemorated as Armistice Day in the United States, Great Britain, and France. After World War II, the holiday was recognized as a day of tribute to veterans of both world wars. Beginning in 1954, the United States designated November 11 as Veterans Day to honor veterans of all U.S. wars. Veterans Day is a very important day which is celebrated everwhere.

Today is a very important day to recognize. If not for all our veterans then the world would be very different. Thank you to all of those who have served in the U.S. military. My granddad was in the U.S. Navy for a number of years. I am very proud of him and I'm thankful he is still with us today to share stories about his time in the Navy.

I think that it is an important day. I have a lot of respect for veterans. My grandpa was in the army. I think he fought in the Cold War. He also got a medal. That is why I have a lot of respect for the veteran's.

Veteran's Day is a very important day. It is meant to celebrate the work of the people who served in the U.S. military. President Eisenhower signed the document to make it a holiday. The Peace Treaty to end World War 1 was signed on the 11th day of the 11th month on the 11th hour. That day we now celebrate as Veteran's day.
