Thanksgiving

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving! What does Thanksgiving mean to you? For some it is a day of football, for others a day to plan their Friday shopping excursions, and for others a chance to enjoy a feast with family and friends. Thanksgiving should also be a day when we reflect on all that we have to be thankful for! Thanksgiving has a long history dating back to the ancient Hebrews, Greeks and Romans. In America it can be traced back over 350 years!
How do you and your family celebrate Thanksgiving? Do you have traditions that you follow? Will you eat too much? Tell us about what you plan on doing for Thanksgiving, and what it means to you in your posting. Remember to use at least five sentences!
And, finally, I hope each and every one of you have a happy and safe Thanksgiving!

To me Thanksgiving is just a time to be with the people you really care about. During Thanksgiving my family and I always go to my uncle’s house in Waverly. This year instead of going to his house, we are having it at some Ruitan Club. I’m not ex-cited. It won’t be the same or as comfortable. Either way I will be happy to be with most of my family to spend time. I don’t plan on stuffing my face because I don’t want to get fat so I’ll eat everything, but just a small portion.

I think that Thanksgiving is a day where you and your family shall get together. Everyone should eat and have a big dinner. Some people see this as a day to show what they are thankful for. Me and my family just get together and eat with each other. I guess this is the only tradition that we do on Thanksgiving.

I think thanksgiving is a time to give thanks and have fun with family. I like to eat, shop, and just play around with little cousins. I like seeing old family and new family. Thanksgiving is almost as fun as Christmas. I also get birthday presents from people who weren’t here for my birthday. So my thanksgiving is always fun. I learn about new gossip and old gossip it’s always crazy.

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. Thanksgiving is when I get to see my cousins from northern Virginia who I don’t see a lot. We always go to my grandma’s house in Hampton to eat. She is the best cook in my family. She can cook a turkey that the meat will melt in your mouth. I always eat too much; me and my cousins see who can eat the most. He normally wins.

My family celebrates Thanksgiving by lying around the house all day and taking a break from our busy and crazy lives. We don’t have any traditions that we follow. We just take turns having thanksgiving at each others houses. I think that everyone eats too much on Thanksgiving. I plan on catching up on some sleep and watching the parades on TV until I have to help my mom cook dinner. So, Thanksgiving with my family is not very exciting, it’s just the usual.

On Thanksgiving I get to see all my family that I haven’t seen in a very long time. This year is going to be really special because I get to see all of my dad’s side of the family that I haven’t seen since I was 4. Every Thanksgiving we have a huge feast and a variety of games to play. I think that Thanksgiving is a great time to get together with friends and family that you haven’t seen in a long time. It is so much exciting preparing for our Thanksgiving feast. Everyone has there own dish they have to cook for dinner. Then I always have the babies to take care of the whole time which is fine with me because I love infants.

Thanksgiving has always been a time of friends and family for me. Every year my mom cooks dinner and everyone in the immediate family comes home. Now, we have a bigger family because my brother has a family of his own, so we're all packed into the house, but no one seems to care about the limited space. I just enjoy having everything slow down long enough for us to be a family again. Recently, it seems that no one has time to be away from work and Thanksgiving is always a good break from that.

On every Thanksgiving Day I always go to my grandma’s house. Since now she is kind of sickly she doesn’t have it anymore. This Thanksgiving I’m eating at my house. I wanted my sister to cook Thanksgiving dinner but she has to work. I remember when she cooked Thanksgiving dinner, everything was delicious. I liked her turkey, macaroni&chesse, and rolls. There are a lot of things that I’m thankful for like my parents, brother, and sister also for living on this earth.

Thanksgiving means a lot to me. Thanksgiving is a time that I get to see my family and enjoy them. I have always been thankful for what I have even if it’s just a little. I have also learned to be thankful for my family. On thanksgiving my family gets together and spends time with each other. When the food is ready we all sit down. Before we eat we tell each other what we are thankful for. Sometimes we cry and sometimes we laugh. I don’t plan on eating a lot this Thursday because of basketball. I have to stay in shape. I would have to say that my family cooks some of the best food. That gives me one reason to love my family so much.

Since tomorrow is Thanksgiving I plan on hanging out with my family and friends. And I’m also going to eat ALOT! We always spend Thanksgiving with my grandparents, and my grandma makes the best food ever! I also like to watch football with all the guys. Thanksgiving to me means that you should spend time with your family and friends and enjoy what you have in life.

I think Thanksgiving means having dinner with your family and watching the football games. We celebrate thanksgiving by remembering what we are thankful for. And then we eat our Thanksgiving dinner and watch the football games on T.V. We don't really have a tradition for Thanksgiving. Yes, I would eat too much food on Thanksgiving Day.

I look forward to Thanksgiving every year. For Thanksgiving my family spends time together and enjoys each others company. Every year my family gets together at my house or my aunts house and we have dinner together. After dinner we all sit around the table and play card games or just simply talk to one another. The only disadvantage to Thanksgiving is that I eat way too much. Afterwards I have to do some excercises in order to fit into my clothes. Thanksgiving to me is a time to reflect back on what people have done for us and to be thankful for everything that we have.

Thanksgiving for me is time with family, and being with them. This year is going to be different for my family. My grandmother passed away a little over a month ago, and so this thanksgiving we will be celebrating on Saturday, don’t ask me why. This thanksgiving will be a little harder, because my thanksgiving memories with my grandmother were so real. She lived right next door, I would walk back and forth to my MeMa’s helping here. Those are the memories I will cherish and also miss. I am thankful for the time she was here.

Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays; because my family lives all over the country and it's one of the few times of the year I get to see some of them. However, this year my family is going to break the tradition. Everyone seems to have things to do; so my mother, my brother, and I are going to go to my sister's house. For this year that will have to do. Even though I will not get to see everybody like normally it will still be nice to go visit my sister.

Thanksgiving is a lot of fun for me. We are going to my aunt's house tomorrow for Thanksgiving. I love to eat a lot of turkey and stuffing. I do not like cranberry sauce though, and pumpkin pie. I love other pies though, but who doesn't? My favorite pie would probably be a toss up between key lime pie, apple pie, and lemon pie. I really love seeing my family all together.

Thanksgiving is a day for everyone in the entire family to get together and be thankful they have such a wonderful family. For this thanksgiving I will be going to my grandmother’s house on my father’s side of the family or lunch. After lunch I will be headed to my mother’s house for a feast there. I will definitely be eating too much. I love Turkey!

For Thanksgiving, I am going to spend the half the day with my mom and step dad. Then I am going to my dad's house in the afternoon. We are going to go to my step-Grandparents house for Thanksgiving dinner. We are probably going to watch football un-til it is time to go. Thanksgiving to me is just a time when families take time away from busy schedules to be together. It is one of my favorite holidays by far.

I think Thanksgiving is a tinme to spend with your family. The main thing I like to do on Thanksgiving is eat, and watch T.V. with my family. I also go to Georgia, to visit my cousins, and brothers. There are lots of things I am thankful of, such as my parents and my life.

Thanksgiving is a day that we have set aside to be thankful for what we have. On Thanksgiving, we have a huge dinner and family get-together. Normally, you see relatives that you don't see very often. My family goes to my grandmother's house and share Thanksgiving dinner. We all bring a dish that we want to eat at the celebration and sit around and enjoy it. After we leave my mother's side of the family, we go to my dad's side. He has ten brothers and sisters, so we normally have plenty of food. We play basketball and volleyball in my uncle's yard. When we get home, we eat Thanksgiving dinner at my house and enjoy the company of five. Normally I over eat on Thanksgiving because the food is better than what you have everyday. Thanksgiving is one of the best holidays of the year.

Thanksgiving to me, is spending time with my family, and family I haven't seen in a while. Usually my mom always cook, we eat at home and then we travel to other houses. This year I am going to my cousin's Jeff house in Norfolk for Thanksgiving, it is always fun to see him. I always enjoy siting around the table and give the reasons why I am thankful. I plan to eat all I can eat, because all the food smells great. After we eat we always talk and laugh about all the crazy memories we have shared from last years Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving is not a big holiday in my family. But it is times where my family and I all get too gather to eat, talk, and just catch up on some lost time. It’s not really a tradition but my mother and grandmother always did it, we would always use the new dishes, forks, spoons, and glasses that were in display in the cabinets. Will I eat too much? That right when I finish eating I am not going too be able to work because it may not look like it but I love to eat and I eat a lot. Since I have been getting older my mom and I really don’t go any where for the holidays so I am just going to be at home getting some sleep.

Thanksgiving to me means being thankful and being grateful for what you have. In our family we go visit our relatives and eat dinner. On my dad’s side of the family we do eat a lot so we basically just eat and watch football because that’s pretty much all they ever do. And on my moms side of the family we just eat and laugh a lot it’s really fun. Our family doesn’t really have any traditions, but the only one that we do have is to get together eat, sleep, laugh, and have a good time. It’s sometimes sad on Thanksgiving for me because when I think of all the people that don’t have anything its hard to imagine even being in their situation. But this Thanksgiving were going to my aunts house in North Carolina and after we leave from their we might go to my grandmas house which is my dads mom. And then we will come back to our house and eat again and that’s pretty much our tradition.

Thanksgiving is a time when you and most of your family members get together and talk about the past, and eat the most amazing food. Yes it a day when you should tell your family what you’re thankful for, and ask them what they are thankful for. We celebrate Thanksgiving with no tradition just with fun, and thankful people. I don’t eat too much Thanksgiving food, most of it I don’t like. Like the turkey, stuffing, pumpkin pie, cranberry, and most of the greens. But this Thanksgiving I am not eating with my mom’s side of the family. I am going to go and get to know some more people on my father’s side.

Most people in the world love their family and eating. That is why people enjoy Thankgiving. That is the reason why I enjoy Thankgiving. It should be important for all close famlies. If not they must not be that close.

Thanksgiving to me is a day to celebrate with friends and fam-ily. It’s a day to thank God for all he has done for us and given to us. Since tomorrow is Thanksgiving Day I plan on sleeping in and then getting up around 10 to get ready to go to Gates County, North Carolina. I go to North Carolina to spend time with my mom’s side of the family. After we eat there and talk my sisters and I go with my dad to his sister’s house for dinner. While we are there we all draw names for Christmas. When I finally go back home my mom and I decide what time we are going to wake up on Black Friday. Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving. That’s when just my mom and I get out of the house and do most of our Christmas shopping.

Thanksgiving is about being thankful for what you have. Thanksgivings is about families coming together and fellow shipping as a family. My family and I don’t have a tradition we just help each other out.
