Kwanzaa begins the day after Christmas. Kwanzaa is a celebration of family, culture, and community. It lasts until January 1.
This celebration looks at seven principles that some have described as "the best of African thought and practice..."
Take a few minutes and peruse the official website of Kwanzaa. It has lots of great information and is quite interesting to read. There are many things you can learn about this celebration. I know the website is from 2012, but you can answer all my questions and do your research off this site.
Your assignment is to learn at least three facts about Kwanzaa. Put these facts in your post. This is an important celebration, so put some effort into this!

The celebration and season of Kwanzaa is a deeply meaningful and special time of remembrance. Kwanzaa brings a cultural message which speaks to the best of what it means to be African and human in the fullest sense. Kwanzaa is a very important African American holiday. Kwanzaa has integrity and beauty. Kwanzaa grows more and more everyday and more people are joining Kwanzaa instead of Christmas. Kwanzaa is a holiday that happens after Christmas and it last until January 1st, which is seven days. I honestly didn’t know that it started right after Christmas and lasted that long. Millions of African-Americans celebrate Kwanzaa, it is very meaningful of being African in the world. Kwanzaa is also a time of self conscious to honor the ancestral.
Kwanzaa was founded, in America, in 1966 during the Black Freedom Movement, established for several functions; Kwanzaa reflects the need for cultural groundedness during the Black Freedom Movement. There is so much I did not know about Kwanzaa, starting with the fact that African American/Pan-African holiday whose cultural message is to understand what it means to be human and African to the fullest sense. Also, Kwanzaa is the celebration of Family, Community, and Culture that has seven basic principles. Also there are seven symbols that are present during Kwanzaa, and two supplemental symbols that may be found.

I learned a lot from this website such thing include, gifts are given but they are mainly given to children, most of the greeting during this holiday are in Swahili, and the colors of the holiday usually include green, red, and black.
Kwanzaa is important to many different cultures. I didn't know about Kwanzaa until I looked at the video. It is celebrated from December 26 until January 1. Many holiday's only last one day for me. To understand a holiday that I don't really celebrate is kind of interesting. It is a African American and Pan-American culture. I don't celebrate Kwanzaa but one day out of my life it will be good to see what its like to celebrate a holiday for 7 days.
I always thought Kwanzaa was celebrated for one day not several. It is a very important holiday to the African community even though I don't know anyone who celebrates it. Kwanzaa is a holiday that will forever be celebrated like Christmas.

I learned many thing about Kwanzaa. I learned that it is used to remember ancestors. Kwanza starts a day after Christmas, I honestly thought it started before Christmas. kwanza is celebrated December 26 to January 1st. kwanza is a very important celebration.

Honestly, I actually didn't know a lot about Kwanzaa. One thing that I've learned about it, is that it's celebrated in the African-american community. Also, it is celebrated from the twenty-sixth of December to the first of January. Plus, it is a important holiday to get together with family and friends and share joy.
Kwanzaa is a very unique holiday for the people who don't celebrate it because the people who celebrate Christmas is from December 25 and that's it, but the Kwanzaa celebration is way different because the celebrate from December 26 until January 1. Which is very explainable because the want to wait until the new year to stop giving and sharing presents. I would really like to do that one year and see how I like it. I think I would like it a lot because you get presents and stuff until January 1. And I would also like talking about my culture and my relatives from back in the day. I am going to have to talk to my family and see can we celebrate Kwanzaa one year. At least for fun.

On Kwanza they spread a piece of African cloth on a table. The color for Kwanza is black, red and green. They put down a mat and put the Kinara (candle holder) is placed on the mat. I would love to see people set up for this holiday.
