One of my favorite TV shows was "Dirty Jobs" with Mike Rowe. You may recognize him from Ford TV ads. Granted the show was not always for the squeamish of stomach or faint of heart. He, however championed the dignity of work and how necessary some of these jobs are for our society. You may have heard that The Discovery Channel is cancelling the show. One of the reasons for cancelling it is due to a company decision to change the direction their "reality" programming is heading.
Here is an example of how their programming is heading: The same company that owns The Discovery Channel" also owns "TLC" network. TLC's most popular show is "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo."
Your assignment for the blog is to tell us which show you would rather watch and why. Remember to give us a paragraph (3-5 sentences).

I would rather watch Dirty Jobs. It was far more interesting and you could actually learn something from it. Honey Boo Boo is nothing but people staged to act like backroad country hicks, which I find very offensive.
I would much, much, much rather watch Dirty Jobs. The show actually shows something interesting rather than stupid stereotypical people doing stereotypical things. The way television is heading though, I'm really not surprised.
I would much rather watch Honey Boo Boo than Dirty Jobs. I think Dirty Jobs is so gross. Honey Boo Boo is funny and a lot better than Dirty Jobs.

I would rather watch dirty jobs because it teaches you about jibs that are out there and what to do. But me personally I would'nt do that stuff. Unless I really needed money.
I would rather watch Dirty Jobs because it makes your job look not so bad. I havn't seen Honey Boo and probally won't start anytime soon. I don't understand why Discovery would take Dirty Jobs off is byond me.
I'd rather watch Comedy Central or Ink Master consider they interest me. I don't care for Dirty Jobs or Honey Boo Boo. Dirty Jobs has hard labor which I hate and Honey Boo Boo isn't funny.

I think they're cancelling Dirty Jobs in order to promote Honey Boo Boo. I don't really watch Dirty Jobs but it's really informational. I think it's pretty interesting to know about what people do for a living.

For the first video of teh snake I think that epole should not be looking for snkaes at all. MOst people do not like snakes at all, so some people would nto be looking under rocks for snakes. Snakes are one fo teh most dangerous creaters.

I like those videos. I dont think they need to cancel dirty jobs because it looks like something somebpdy would watcgh. I wouldnt perfer to watch Honey Boo Boo.
This is a terrible and scary job.Snakes are my worst fear. I would never even think about doing this.

I personally like Dirty Jobs better. I used to watch that show with my dad. Here Comes Honey Boo Boo is an embarrassing show. I have never liked those pagaent kids and their moms that seem to love pagaents more than their kids do.
I would rather watch dirty jobs. I've heard of Honey Boo Boo and it just seems stupid... plus you can actually learn something useful by watching dirty jobs. Why they got rid of dirty jobs is beyond me.
I do'nt know much about Honey Boo Boo. I've seen stuff on t.v and YouTube that describe the subject. Although it might represent something I don't know.
I would watch Honey Boo Boo, Because it's funny. The funny thing about it is she has a pig for a pet. They have a good time on the show.

The Honey Boo Boo show didn't play, but I watch it whenever I see it on at home. I liked the Dirty jobs video also, it looked fun to catch snakes except for the part when he was bit by the snakes.
Honey Boo Boo needs to go. That show isn't even funny, I think it is retarded. I would much rather watch Dirty Jobs, it has more interesting things on it than Honey Boo Boo will ever have.
Right, I agree with Rebekkah. I don't want to see a dumb show about some spoiled little crazy girl. I'd rather watch Discovery Channel and watch snakes.
I would rather watch Dirty Jobs. Honey Boo Boo can be funny but also get annoying but I do watch it sometimes. But I would choose Dirty Jobs over it.
I have never seen either show but after watching this I would rather watch Dirty Jobs. Honey Boo Boo seems like it is a waste of my time and to me my time is precious. I think they will lose alot of viewers because of this.
I would rather watch "Hear Comes Honey Boo-Boo" because frankly I think its funny watching what kind of drama happens before those pagents. Also because that family reminds me of my some of my parents kids and some of my family members. But i do not really like watching "Dirty Jobs" , not because its gross but because I dont really care to watch a man work a job for a day just so he can gain publicity.

I would rather watch "Dirty Jobs" because it shows you real jobs that real people have to do. It may be nasty but it's true. It is also more educational than "Honey Boo Boo" and I think that "Honey Boo Boo" isn't entertaining.
These videos are very interesting. I never seen either of the both, but I like Dirty Jobs better. Honey Boo Boo seems like it gets kind of annoying. I'm sure other viewers feel the same.

I like Honey Boo Boo because its funnier. Dirty Jobs is weird to me. I could never have any assiocation with snakes.
I would rather watch Honey Boo Boo it is funny and very entertaining. I would actually also watch Dirty jobs for a learning purpose so it just depends on what kind of mood I am in. I wouldn’t watch either of the shows if there is something that interest me more.
In my opinion, I would much rather watch "Dirty Jobs" because for one thing, I think it is interesting to see the different jobs in the world. "Honey Boo Boo", I believe, is the most annoying show in the world. She isn't funny and I just don't see what the point of the show is. Some things I just never want to see again including "Honey Boo Boo" and "Gangnam Style."
I'd rather laugh. I'd watch dirty jobs if I wanted to learn something. I still think that both tv shows are pretty wacked out.
While “Honey BooBoo” is an entertaining and funny show, it shows the direction our society is headed in. People are beginning to value shows like “Honey BooBoo” and “Jersey Shore” over the more educational and sophisticated ones such as “Dirty Jobs.” I have to admit, “Honey BooBoo” is hilarious, however, it is only adding to the “wussification,” as Mrs. Scott calls it, to our country. It is a shame that shows like “Honey BooBoo” have the ability to get shows like “Dirty Jobs” pulled off air.
I think dirty jobs is better than Honey Boo Boo. Dirty jobs is more entertaining to me. Dirty jobs is more of a show than Honey Boo Boo.
I rather watch "Mike vs. Honey", because he is the entertainment of the show. He is really amusing to watch, when interacts with nature. His personality makes everybody laugh around him, while being querky. Let's just say he keeps things interesting. That is why I like to watch the Dirty jobs episode over Honey Boo Boo,plus it wouldn't pop up on the computer because it was copy righted.
I don't watch either show, but Dirty Jobs looks a lot better than Honey Boo Boo. Honey Boo Boo is just stupid to me. I put the headphones up to my ears, not expecting to watch the whole video of Dirty Jobs, but I did, it was pretty interesting. In my opinion, shows like Honey Boo Boo are ruining our generation.
