Cyber Monday

Last Friday was dubbed Black Friday.  Some of you may have seen some of the disasters as shown on the video.

Today has been dubbed Cyber Monday and we are encouraged to shop online.  The benefits to online shopping include avoiding disasters like  the video shows.  Also the ease of shopping from the privacy of your home is an added benefit.  Of course, there might be drawbacks.  You can not try on clothing or physically touch the package.  And you need a credit or debit card, which presents a problem to many teenagers.  However, many retailers will have online specials to get you to shop online.

Now we move on to today's assignment.  Would you rather shop online or in a store?  Which way is easier for you?  IS there an advantage to either method of shopping?  Finally, why do you think online or in store shopping is the better choice for you?

I'd rather shop online. It's easier, plus you can search for exactly what you want. You also don't have to deal with people which is an added bonus.

I believe shopping in a store has much more of an advantage. You can try on clothes and make sure what you're getting is what you're paying for. There are also complications with shopping online like shipping costs, things possibly getting lost in the mail, and credit card fraud.

I like shopping in stores rather than online. A con of shopping online is that you can't try on clothing and may order a wrong size. I hate waiting for orders. Despite waiting, there may be items that are only available online and not in stores. I think shopping in stores is easier because you can try clothes on and take them home, but the madness on Black Friday is outrageous.

I think shopping online is better because you dont need a ride to the store or bother someone else when you take forever. Online you can look and do whatever you want without taking up someone elses time. I just think online is better

If I had to choose, shopping online would definitely be the better option. For one, there isnt the chance of being trampled by mobs of frenzied shoppers. Although shopping online could be tricky too, seeing as you can't physically touch clothes you buy or check for things that could be wrong.

Holy crack that was insane to see people go that crazy. Buying online isn't really that crazy like the video. At least there's the comfort and safty of your own home.

I like shopping in a store rather than shoopping online. Shopping online, you can't try on clothing and you need your parent's credit card. You can see the actual product a lot better in a store versus online so that might affect if you want to purchase it. I don't mind shopping online, but I prefer in stores.

I think online is better. Because you don't have to wait in a long line or stand a chance of getting trampled. But it looks like fun to go out there and see people fight and what not.

I saw the disasters watching the news. I think online shopping could uncrowd many stores. I didn't go Black Friday shopping.

I would always prefer shopping online than actually shopping at a store. Online shopping is much easier and you can get insane deals without the risk of being trampled by tons of people. There are also many websites so there are a variety of goods that you can purchase.

I think the best place to shop is in the store. You can see the product in person, while actually seeing what your paying for and without the risk of it not working right;or not fitting etc. Also you have a less of a risk of someone writing your credit card number down. That is why I think shopping in the store is easier for me. But some people prefure to shop online, because they have an avoidance of a crowded store, and they might stay home. The nonfavorable part of this method is you don't get to see the product, plus your identity might get stolen easier than shopping at the store etc. The best way to go is to shop in the store.

that was the craziest black friday video i ever saw. I have never seen people so energized with black friday. I cant blame them everything is on sale. This video wasnt worst than the news.

I would prefer to shop in the store, that way you can see the product before you get It and make sure that's what your really getting. I would not like to use credit cars. Id rather pay in cash. It's easier to me. Other people might prefere to shop online and use a credit card. This was a crazy video.

I like shopping in stores a lot better then online. I like it because you can actually see what it looks like in person. Shopping in stores is also better then online shopping because you get to try things on to make sure they fit for sure.

I would rather buy in store. That way i could see the items true to color and see if they fit. It would be easier to just online shop in the comfort of my own home though.

I like shopping in in stores because, if I shop online then it will take a while for the item to reach my house. I only shop in stores. Why are they fighting in Wal-Mart?

My opinion would be to definently shop online! I could not deal with all the commossion, pushing and shoving, and that huge rush trying to fight over who gets what. I may not be able to try on what I am buying but if I don't like it, I can always return it and get something else. Online shopping is for me!

Personally, shopping in store is a much better benifit to me because some things you might by online could be different colors than what you see. Also, if its clothing, you cant try it on and dont know if it would fit or not. But when it comes to packaged things or electonics, online shopping is WAY easier. I would not be able to go Black Friday shopping with all those crazy people!

I personally rather shop in a store. I like stores better because you can try it on if you want and you know exactly what your buying. Another pro about shopping in stores is that you get it right then and there instead of waiting.

I LOVE to shop. I would rather shop in the store than to shop online. Only for clothes and shoes, but I would not shop in the store for an electronic it's much easier. Those people in Wal-Mart are like animals.. I just wouldn't make it in there. AT ALL.

I would rather shop in stores than online. You can see what they really look like and how they fit. I also like shopping online because you can be comfortable in my own home.

I would much rather shop in a store. I don’t like buying things that I can’t try on or can’t see. There is an advantage to shopping online, however, such as avoiding the Black Friday madness shown in this video. This year I have shopped online a lot more. If I get something that I don’t end up liking, I can just return it.

I love shopping. I'd rather be in the store though. When you buy things from online sometimes its not what you want it to be when it gets there. When your in the store you can see how it really is.

I would rather shop in the store than online. Even though shopping online would be much easier, I would want to try on my stuff like clothes and shoes. If it's online the only thing you have is just a picture, not good.

I would rather shop online than in a store. I don't mind shopping in stores but to me shopping online is easier and faster. Also when you shop online your items ca't get stolen when you turn your back and you wont have to rush and run and push people out the way to get what you want. Shopping online also can have cheaper prices then in a store.

Chris Funai said...

I think shopping in stores is better than shopping online. When shopping online you cant try clothes or shoes on. the prices are cheaper in stores. In stores you can try on all your clothes, and shoes.

While there is many advantages from shopping in stores, online shopping would probably be my choice for shopping. Yes you may be able to touch, feel, fit, and more physical things, but you avoid the crowds and the maddness. Online shopping can usually expect delays also but it is done so much easier. No matter what your choice is on the way you shop, it all depends on the object or sale you are getting!

I like the convenience of shopping online, but I like to see what the clothes look like on me first. Things on line look great, but not as great when they arrive. I'm just sayin.

I personally shop online with a clothing store I trust. I do somethimes shop in stores. Throughout, the video was live.

I think the store is better because you get to try what you are getting on and don’t have to worry about shipping fees. With shopping online you have to sometimes pay for shipping and then you have to wait on your order to get shipped to you. Shopping in the store is less of a hassle. You can avoid the craziness of the stores by not going out on days with big sales.

Sam Donovan said...

That's crazy it's not even that big of a deal. Have you ever wondered what "Black Friday" meant. Well when businesses income is lower than there outgo they are in what they call the RED, so all these businesses have a giant sale hence "Black Friday" what this does is increase their income. Then when their income is higher than their outgo they are in the so called BLACK.

I would rather shop online than in a store. I don't mind shopping in stores for clothes, shoes and food but for everything else to me shopping online is better. Also when you shop online your items can't get stolen out your basket when you turn your back and you wont have to rush through and push people out the way to get what you want. Shopping online also can have cheapler prices then in a store.

When it comes to shopping online, think about this. IF you have to pay to get the items shipped to you and pay return shipping if you do not like it or want it, then are you paying double shipping and getting nothing to show for it?

Roland Downing said...

When it comes to shopping in stores, think about this. IS it worth it to spend the money on gas, and then drive around looking for a parking spot, fight crowds and wait in line for a long time? Just saying...

-Erica McKay said...

I would rather shop at the store mainly because it's what I'm used to. Like you said I get to try my clothes on and take my cash to the resgister and pay. But my thoughts on Black Friday is the saving is good it's just to make hassel and worry about safety. I have never gone Black Friday shopping but maybe I will one day.
