American Idol begins its tenth season tonight. Over the years American Idol has become the standard by which other talent/reality shows are judged.There are many differences between this year's show and previous seasons. For one thing, the original production crew has been brought back to help the show.
In addition to that change, there are two new judges. Paula left before last year. Kara and Ellen are not coming back. But the biggest judging news is that Simon Cowell will not be returning! Do you wonder how it will affect the program.
The new judges are Jennifer Lopez (J-LO) and Steven Tyler of Aerosmith and Polar Express fame. But of course, the biggest stars are the singers. From the auditions to the finals, we all tune in to watch the singers and cheer for our favorite.
As you can guess, I am a big fan of American Idol. Think of all the artists you listen to today who got their start on Idol. There's Jennifer Hudson, Clay Aiken, Carrie Underwood, Fantasia, Adam Lambert and Taylor Hicks; just to name a few.
Or do you watch for the "train wrecks," the bad singers. the attitudes and the "unique" characters? How can you forget Sanjaya, William Hung, Bikini Girl and some of the others? Even Adam Lambert had his quirky side!

I watch American Idol a little. I think that since Simon is leaving the show might run smoother. I also think it is about time for new judges.
No not really. Simon leaving would probably help show mercy for those singers, because he was cold. Hey wouldn't mind seeing Jennifer.
I love American Idol!! I think Simon's departure will be a good thing to the show. I think the new judges will be just as great. Although, I'm kinda upset that Paula is not a judge no more. :( I really liked her. But, I'm pretty sure this is going to be an amazing season!
I do watch American Idol but I don't really care for it that much. I really think the new judges will make a differences on the judging of the singing. Simon not being there is going to be really different because Simon made everything hard on the singers.
I don't watch American Idol, but I watch Indian Idol. Indian Idol's season is already over. One thing that I hate about these Idol's is that the best singers get out easily. I know some of the judges, because I saw them once. I don't think Simon's departure will hurt the singers, but it will probably hurt the judges because Simon always made them laugh.
I watch American Idol sometimes, but not everytime it comes on. I think Simons departure will hurt the show, because he brought a mean side to the judges. I think I will watch the premire tonight.
I don't really watch American Idol much. I mainly just watch the auditions to see the ones who really can't sing. However, I believe that the show will start going downhill now that they are losing most of the original judges.

Simon depature will not affect the show at all, even though he will be missed.
I watch American Idol a little bit. With Simon leaving the show is going to lose its viewers in my opinion. He is a very funny man and he keeps it real. He knows his music and i respect him for that.
I probbly am not going to watch American Idol. I used to watch it just to see the bad singers because it was funny. I think shows always lose rating when the oringal people are not on the show.
i do believe Simon not being there will be a change. Simon was one odf the hardest judges in the American Idol Staff. Simon not being there will be a good thing for certain contestants.
I do not watch American Idol. I also do not care nothing about Simon. The new judges are okay i guess but like i said i dont like this show.

I watch Idol sometimes, I do like to watch the good people at the end, and then the funny people in the beginning. Not usually in between. The new judges will effect the show because that is an original thing. And Simon and Paula I love. Simon might hurt the show and he might not we will see! I just hope that someone good wins, cause Simon can be a jerk, but I mean it's for the best, and some of the people that walked in there just did it cause of TV.

Sometimes I watch American Idol. I think the new judges are cool. It is going to mess up the viewing percentages because Simon isn’t up there anymore.

I don’t watch American Idol but I use to a long time ago but not anymore. I personally don’t think they should have changed the judges on the show because it kind of ruined the show. But the first two seasons of American Idol where the best, but they should also bring Simeon back.
I usually watch American Idol with every new season. I will give it a try this year but doubt I will like it. Simon was an asset to the show, he balanced things out when everybody was too nice and not critical enough. I will miss his quick wit and harsh opinions. I am not a huge Steven Tyler fan because he thinks he is better than he actually is. I hope American Idol will be good but I know it will never be the same.

I think now that Simon is gone, there will be many changes like their wont be as many harsh comments as there were on the previous shows. I rarely watch American Idol. I'm more of an "America's Who's Got Talent" fan. I think with the new judges, many more people will at least make it to the 2nd wave.

I normally watch American Idol at the beginning because I enjoy watching the "train wrecks" that come through. I think the two new judges will be a great addition to the show. I believe that Simon's departure from the show will have its toll on the ratings and amount of viewers that tune in this year. The new judges being there may contradict my hypothesis by more viewers tuning in to see how they are. You never know, someone may be even worse than Simon this year.

I myself do not watch Idol. The departure of Simon may hurt the show because he was such a big part of the show. I think the addition of Steven Tyler from Aerosmith will be a good move for the show, even though he is as ugly as sin; he is a big name which can draw more viewers into the show.
I don't watch American Idol much, but when I did, I loved Simon's smart remarks! They were hilarious. Simon's criticism may of hurt people's feelings, but he told the truth as it was.

I watch for the train wrecks definitely because that’s what makes the show interesting. I used to watch it a lot, but not so much anymore I don’t have as much time now. I think the new judges are good their not bad for the show they’ll fit right in. Yes, Simon leaving will mess up the show a little but it will still be very fun to watch. Simon made the show interesting and fun because he was so mean and the faces he made were priceless when the bad singers came in! I think American Idol is a great show to watch and it’s very funny. I’m sure this season of American Idol will be interesting and good. :)
I only like watching American Idol when they are holding auditions. I am so happy that Simon has hit the road. I think the new judges will do just fine.
I watch American Idol as much as I can. I think that by Simon leaving, the show will benefit. The show needs new judges, more diversity. I think that Jennifer Lopez will make a good judge.

But alot of people would agree that some of his comments were called for, because some of them folks just cant sing!. But hopefully the season will go good.
I use to watch American Idol with my mom. I really don't have interest in it. I think the show will have less viewers without Simon he was the funniest person on the show. I guess the new judges are going to do good.

I don’t watch America Idol all the time only sometimes. I do like to see the weird people and the people that can’t sing. I think they are so funny. I don’t like the new judges!! I think the old people are better judging. I know Simon was a mean judge but he was funny when the weird people came on.
