Christmas Music

It seems that holiday music is everywhere today. You hear it on the radio, in the malls, on television and yes, even in my classroom! One local radio station (2WD) is playing nothing but holiday music.
Maybe you have a favorite artist or group that makes holiday music. Some groups like Mannheim Steamroller and Trans-Siberian Orchestra produce mainly holiday music.
Other artists (probably including your favorite) have probably done a holiday song or two. Look at the videos. Did you enjoy them? What is your favorite holiday music? Do you think it is over done, or not done enough.
Who is your favorite Christmas/holiday artist or group? Do you have a favorite song? Let us know what it is! My favorite group is Trans-Siberian Orchestra and my all-time favorite song is "Step Into Christmas" by Elton John!

I don’t have a favorite Christmas group or artist, but my favorite song is This Christmas by Chris Brown. I think the “Step into Christmas” by Elton John video is a little over done. It just seems like too much. It seems like something I would definitely not listen to. My favorite holiday music is sung by my favorite R&B artists or little kids in holiday programs, because they are just so cute.

I honestly don’t have a favorite Christmas song or group. I like a variety of different Christmas songs. I didn’t really care for the video but then again I didn’t watch the whole thing. It was an older song so maybe after hearing it a few more times my opinion would change. The song just wasn’t my type. I enjoy many Christmas songs; I think that they are very entertaining.

Christmas music is played on a lot of radio stations. The Eagle plays a lot of the country Christmas songs. Kenny Chesney writes great Christmas song the best he wrote was “Santa looked a lot like Daddy”. It’s just not the radio that plays Christmas song but comedians on TV sing rewritten Christmas song to make them funny. Jeff Durham sings all his song on his Christmas Special, on Comedy Central.

I hear holiday music all the time. It’s alright, I guess. Even though I always hear the holiday music during the season I don’t have a favorite song or artist. Some holiday songs tell a story and others are poetic. I think this is what attracts people to these songs. It looks like holiday music is succeeding just as well as any other genre of music.

The video was pretty good. I like holiday music. It makes me smile. the music i like to hear is like the christmas cd my step daddy plays with the Temptations, the O.Jays, and this lady that sings "Gee wizz its Christmas". My foavorite song is "This Christmas" not the one remade by Chris Brown but the old version of the song.

Christmas songs are okay to listen to. Their have been a lot of artists sings Christmas songs. I like Alicia Keys song called “Do You Hear What I Hear.” She sings that song with Elmo on a Sesame Street Christmas special, she sings it beautiful. Christina Aguilera song is “This Christmas” she has an amazing kind of soul voice for that song. I would like to sing a Christmas song with Alicia Keys.

Yes, I did enjoy the Christmas/holiday video. No, I don't have a favorite Christmas/holiday song. I don't think holiday music is done enough because people probably still don't know what Christmas is all about. I don't have a favorite Christmas/holiday artist or a group. No, I don't have a favorite song because I listing to all different types of music.

I don't think Christmas, well, holiday songs in general, are overdone. Everywhere you go, people are listening to different holiday songs. You hardly ever hear the same exact song more than two or three times, tops. I don't like riding in the car, because my family listens to country style music, so it's twice as bad; Christmas songs and horrible music. Other than that it doesn't bother me in the least bit. It can even be a little festive at times. It's not my favorite, but I did enjoy Snoopy's Christmas last week.

Do I enjoy Christmas music? I feel that Christmas music can become annoying after a while but I enjoy it sometimes. After you hear it for a while it becomes repetitive. Overall, I don’t have a favorite Christmas song or even a group. Although my favorite artist is Taylor Swift because she gives Christmas songs a certain flare. This Christmas I will be able to enjoy holiday music a little bit more.

I enjoyed the video. My favorite holiday music would have to be by the Temptations. I love when they sing silent night. I think that during holidays holiday music can’t get old. When they play Christmas song on the radio I usually wait for my favorite song to come on. I love music so to hear something different during Christmas time is very exciting for me.

The video shown had a nice seasonal feel to it. However, my favorite holiday music is produced by my favorite bands, like Weezer, The Killers, John Lennon, AC/DC, and even Nirvana (On a rare YouTube video). The production of holiday music by rock groups seems to be slowly diminishing, which is a bummer for me because I love Christmas. If The Offspring put out a Christmas single it’d be the best day of my life! One can only hope... I don’t really have a favorite Christmas artist, I do have a favorite song though. “Don’t Shoot Me, Santa” by The Killers. The song is about a boy who gets teased by all his friends because he believes in Santa. He then goes crazy because of the teasing and kills all of them as payback. When Santa finds out, he isn’t too happy. Santa then decides that the only way to punish the boy is to kill him. The whole song is an argument between the boy and Santa about whether he should live or not. All though the comedic song is very dark and about killing, it still has an overwhelming, up-beat Christmas touch to it. It can get stuck in your head for days at a time. In the end of the song, the boy escapes because the band saves him. I love this song because it much different than any other Christmas song I’ve ever heard. The video for it is also one of the funniest Christmas videos I’ve seen. Plus it combines my two favorite things, VIOLENCE AND CHRISTMAS!

Christmas time for me, doesn’t feel much different than regular days. I sometimes forget that its December so when I hear Christmas music it kind of feels out of place. Although the events and such are broadcasted everywhere, and it’s the busiest time of year, it doesn’t really feel like Christmas to me at the moment. If I had to choose, I’d have to say Trans-Siberian Orchestra is also my favorite. I don’t have a favorite song by them but my favorite Christmas song is “Where are you Christmas?” by Faith Hill. It’s also known as the song Cindy Lou Who sings in the movie “How the Grinch Stole Christmas”, which happens to be my favorite Christmas movie.

I enjoy most Christmas music because it implies a joyful mood. It makes me happy whenever I listen to upbeat music. It just makes you want to smile and be happy in opinion. Except for TSO because it is more rock n’ roll. I don't think that any Christmas music is bad it is just different people have different opinions. All Christmas music tries to make you think about being a better person, so it can't be bad.

I would have to say honestly, I don't have a favorite Christmas song, but I do enjoy Christmas music. The video was rather odd to me in my opinion, im used to hearing the Temptations I like their music. Holiday music always gets me in the spirt of the season.

The first to videos were very weird. The people in the videos were acting really weird. My most favorite video was Chris Brown. I actually really liked all of them. And actually I don’t have a favorite Christmas artist or song because they are all good. I just love Christmas music especially at Christ-mas time. I have currently sung in the Christmas cantatas at my church in the past. I love to sing especially at church.

I do not have a favorite Christmas song. For Christmas, I usually like all of the music, it doens't matter to me. I don't have a favoirte group either. I like more of the traditional Christmas music. I like a lot of the music for Christmas time, but I do not listen to it a lot, only sometimes.

Christmas is my all time favorite holiday! The decorations, movies, music, and time together is fantastic. I enjoyed the song by Elton John the most. The video was very ammusing and I liked the song overall. My favorite Christmas song is This Christmas by Taylor Swift. I do not think that Christmas songs are overplayed. Hearing the songs over and over helps get me in the mood for the holiday.

I really enjoy Christmas songs because normally they show honor to the birth of Christ. My favorite Christmas song is Mary, Did You Know? I like that song because it tells about all the things that Jesus was going to do before he became the savior. Sometimes I think Christmas songs are not played enough. You only get to hear them one time a year and there are some really nice songs out there. I don’t really have a favorite Christmas artist because normally I listen to the song. I did not like the first two videos we watched in class because they were too unusual to me. I like Christmas music because it brings a certain joy to most people.

No I didn’t like the first song because to me it sounds like the song has no meaning.
I don’t like music with no words is hard to get in to the Christmas feel, and I know you can express yourself though music, but that defeats the who purpose of the right to freedom of speech. My favorite Christmas song is where you are Christmas by Faith hill. I like this song because it has a soft and sweet ring to it. There are many Christmas songs and artist out there that speak about the birth of Christ and the true meaning behind Christmas.
