Isle of Wight Schools is considering going to a ten point grading scale. The arguments are many. Consider this: a 91 average is currently a B in this school. Under a ten point scale it would be an A!

It would be great for this to happen, but seeing how im a senior it doesnt really matter. This wouldn't effect my grades at all. They should have done this last year.
I already took the survey, last week. I think that this survey is worth it, because it is easier to get into college. Right now, I have three A's, and a B-91. If we go to the ten-point scale, it will help reduce school-related-stress. I think that many people will benefit from this survey.
Brandi and I believe that they shouldn't change the grade scale. Our grades would be very bad. We think they should just keep the grade scale since we already know whats passing and whats failing. We hope they don't change it. If they change it, students and parents would have to understand the whole process again.

I think doing a ten-point scale isn’t a good idea. Most of the administrators look at the percentage grade anyway, so there is no point. Plus, if students think it’s too easy to get an A they won’t try as hard as they would to get the regular grade scale.

I did the survey today. I think that the school board should really seriously change the grading scale. I think they should change it because all the school's should have the same grading scale, so when the colleges look, it makes us have the same chances. Honestly, if we had the 10 point grading scale, more people will be passing. I know instead of having a 70 be a D, it would be an A. I came from Maryland with the 10 point grading scale, and there were more kids graduating on time. I don't believe that changing the grading scale we'll have to re-learn the whole process again, it'll come easier to the parents, 90-100-A. It also reduces school related stress, I know I've got a lot of stress trying to get into Duke with my grades. The idea of IWCS switching to a ten point grading scale is an excellent idea but in a way I do not like it. I know that with a ten point grading scale it will be easier for students to get an A or a passing grade but it kind of takes away from us. It gives to us by possibly giving IWCS a higher graduating and passing rate. It will take away from students by reducing the amount we have to work; I myself work very hard to try to get an A or a passing grade, but with a ten point scale students will not have to work as hard to achieve a 94 for an A but merely a 90.
