Gangnam Style

Are you  as surprised as I am by the popularity of the smash hit "Gangnam Style?"  Released in July by South Korean artist PSY, this techno dance hit has become the number two YouTube hit video, just behind Justin Beiber's hit "Baby."  With its catchy beat and funky dance moves, the video and song have been parodied by many including the Oregon Duck and midshipmen from the United States Naval Academy. 

PSY has performed his song on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, The Today Show and at various venues including Madison Square Garden.  I have noticed many of you listening to it during class. 

Tell us what you think of Gangnam Style.  Do you like it, or has it become annoying because it is played so much?  Would you want to listen to more music by PSY?  Would you recommend it to your friends?

    I think it is so stupid. It is annoying. I will never will listen to one of there songs

    Gangnam style is one of the best music videos out there. My friend showed it to me one day and now I love it and I’ve heard a lot of people singing and dancing to it. It is also now the most liked song and I would recommend this song to anyone, any day.

    The video took to long to load. I didn't particually like the song. I would recommend the song to some but not all.

    Gangnam style is just another one hit wonder people for some reason think is good. I find it annoying and overdone. I would more than likely recommend it to people i hate.

    When this song came out, I wondered why it was so popular. I like to listen to English songs so I can understand them. I wouldn't listen to anymore songs from PSY. I wouldn't recommend them either.

    That was a funny video. The chinese version is funnier than the english one. I know this will be the last time I will watch this video.

    I absolutely love this song and video! I can understand some not liking it because it is in Korean, but since I already listen to K-Pop, Japanese, and Russian songs it doesn't really bother me. If I want to know what he says, I just look up the English version. And I would listen to more PSY. I already do.

    I think this is a hilarious video. The song can get annoying but its funny and fun to sing. This is the only song I wanna listen to by PSY.

    Gangnam style is one of the best music videos out there.I would recommend the song to some but not all.I find it annoying and overdone.

    I believe Gangnam Style only became as popular as it did because it has a silly dance associated with it. Think back to other such "hits": The Cat Daddy, Dougie, and even Soulja Boy songs have dances that go along with them that makes them popular. There is no reason this song should be as popular as it is here in America; You can't even understand what the man says for 90% of the song!

    I love this song! My friends' and I always dance to it when it comes on. I would like to recommend it to my friends, because it is super fun to dance to and very catchy!

    Personally I think the song is stupid! It's way to over-playyed, and it's just plan annoying. One of my best friends is OBSESSED with this song and it drives me insane! I DON'T think PSY should make anymore songs because for one we can't understand anything he is saying, and two its probably just a one-hit wonder!

    Even though most people dont particularly like the song, I do. I didn't like it when it first came out until I watched the video all the way through (since its not in english)

    I dont like this song. It is way over played and is very annoying. You can't understand what he is saying. I would not recommend it.

    This video makes me happy because now I know that I'm not the only crazy person! LOL. I like it. I wish I could understand what Psy is saying, buy I enjoy it. :)

    I absolutely cannot stand this song! Everytime it comes on the radio I change it as fast as possible. I didn't watch your video because I did not want to torture my ears. Hopefully PSY will learn to make better music or stop all together.

    I think Gangnam style is pure garbage. I have no clue how this type of music and esspeccially this song is appealling to anybody. I would recommend it to somebody if they were def. Bassically all of this generation's hits are garbage.

    I believe that "Gangnam Style" can be quite annoying hearing it over and over again but we all have to admit, it does have a catchy beat. Most new songs lately are overplayed and I just think that it's one more on that list. I personally do not like "PSY" and would probably not listen to much more of his music if he did come out with more "hits."

    I don't care for the language it was sung in, but the beat sounds just like any other ordinary party song. Other then all that I HATE THAT SONG. It's an sorry excuse for music. . . . . . . . MAD FACE DOT DOT DOT DOT

    The song was okay. I would listen to them more to see if they had a better songs. If I know my friends would listen to songs like this yeah, I would tell them to listen to it.

    I like this song. It is interesting that it got so popular; I wouldn’t have thought that a song in another language would be such a hit. I would not like to listen to any other songs by PSY, though. I would recommend it, but I doubt that there are many people who have not heard the song already.

I personally do not like "PSY" and would probably not listen to much more of his music. It's realy stupid because no one can understand what there saying. But one of my friends mom is corean and she can translate the whole song.

    I think Gangnam style is a funny video. Although I really wouldn’t listen to another one of their songs because I think this one sucks and their hits are not my kind of music. I listen to this song for a good laugh every once in awhile. Personally I think the video received a lot of views because it’s just another funny, pointless video.

    I defiantly do not like this song.
    To me I think it would've been better if it had a different beat. I do like the dance they were doing. Still , I wouldn't recommend this song to my friends.

    I love it, yes I would recomend it to my friends but they were the ones that showed me. I think it gets annoying after a while but for now I love it.

    This was the first time I ever heard Gangnam style, by PSY. I thought it was hillarious, it really had an amusing effect on me. If I had my friends numbers in my contacts in the Ipad I would definetly recommend it to them, so that they can have a laugh too. Also if they are fans of PSY I would recommend them to jam out to it, this is another reason why I would recommend it.

    Gangnam Style is a pretty annoying song. I think it's crazy how big it's become and it's not even in English. The song bugs me but it's so catchy.
