Check out the tallest
building in the world. The Burj Kahlifa in Dubai opened on Monday. At 168
stories and 828 meters (2,716 feet) tall, it is twice as tall as the Empire State building. By the way that is about half a mile long!
The second tallest free standing structure at about 1800 feet is the CN Tower in Toronto. From 1932 to 1967 the tallest building in the world was the Empire State Building.
The videos of the Burj Khalifa are amazing. Check out this
video of the building!
Here is a brief
history of tall buildings! Take a look at it, please.
I have been both to the CN Tower and to the Empire State Building. If you get the chance, you should also.
Your assignment today has three parts. Tell us: What is the tallest building you have been in? What do you think of the Burj Kahlifa tower? Finally, where in the heck is Dubai, anyway? You might want to use Google maps for this part. Take your time, remember 3-5 sentences, and proofread!
